Is it REALLY HOT where you are? I know I've been dragging a lot and it's really hot here. If it's hot, are you drinking enough and getting enough salt?

Do you have low blood pressure? Or anemia? Both can cause this lightheadedness. And yes, it's worse in heat.

nope not hot today, thunder and lightning storms and crap acually.

as for anemia - not to my knowlege unless its a recent development, when i had all my tests done to figure out what was wrong that was one thing they where testing for and no blood loss here. As for low blood presure i dont think that either, unless its a recent thing since my blood levels have always been exalent

Could be allergies or fluid in the inner ear. This is the time of year that affects me. Does your head spin around when you are lying down? You might need an antihistamine such as Benadryl. I myself take Zyrtec. If you take one they will make you sleepy so don't drive.

This got my attention. Whenever there is a storm in my area, I get the exact same symptoms. I literally fall off my feet with dizziness. The doc says I am reacting to the change in barometric pressure. I have to lean against something or sit in a chair with a back so as not to fall. Sometimes, it makes me just want to puke.

:) Dessa-I have had the same thing for years too! Snow storms also make me ill. My husband says it is the barometric pressure and the release of nitrogen into the air. I also get severe stabbing pains in my joints.

Lister--are you eating enough? Did you get some grocery help? Also, during my first couple of months, I had hot flashes, sweats, dizziness and extreme exhaustion. I would sleep eight hours at night and have to take a two hour nap- for a couple of weeks this lasted and then it suddenly went away. I know a lot of people on here experienced some similar symptoms. Maybe you have reached that point in recovery as well. Low blood sugars can do this big-time and that is another celiac symptom. Hypoglycemia seems to go with this too, as well as thyroid problems. I sure hope this is not the case and it is another "milestone" in the recovery.

THC can cause extreme dizziness, and is fat soluble staying in your body (including brain tissue) up to three weeks.

Tests also have shown that THC blocks the immune system’s ability to function properly, have you considered giving up the doobage until your body has a chance to heal a little more?

Not a lecture, just a question.

lister - perhaps if you focus on whole, natural foods for awhile, your body might readily adjust. you might be getting cross contaminated without knowing it (from prepackaged goods).

hmmm, I also react this way when the weather is stormy... barometric pressure changes... people around me think I'm crazy when I tell them I can tell a storm is coming because I get so "out of it" dizzy lightheaded and can't get up out of bed without tremendous effort.

Lister, I agree with those who spoke of barometric pressure causing problems when a storm is coming in, affects me too. I am also wondering if you are eating enough since you were low on $$ recently??

since you are probably getting better from some problems some new ones may be cropping up, just the way it works/ celiac disease. You think " now I am going to be better and a new phase kicks in", takes a lot of patience. Best o" luck!! evie " hypoglycemia also sounds like a reasonable idea too, eat less and more often to keep blood sugar level".

Isn't it true that people with candida overgrowth are affected by the rain? Seems that I remember reading that somewhere as one of the symptoms.

For those with barometric pressure issues who are amenable to alternative medicine (namely accupunture) NAET (Nambudripod (sp?) Allergy Ellimnation Therapy), has the potential to help this. Just FYI.

omg sweeeeet so that meens i can finally have a dew again? YAY

i have also laid back on the intoxicatns for a few days to see if that was the problem and it does not seem to be them..... grrr i was hoping for a easy solution but im still as tired as i would have been if i would have smoked to fall asleep last night (man that woulda helped)

anyone have this( you move around and things seem to move in frames, like your eyes skip things like every 3 seconds or so, so its like im looking at the monitor one second and then the next im looking into the kitchen but the look betweeen the kitchen and the monitor was skipped in my mind) its really confusing and makes me dizzy

also can we trust fountain drinks? dont know why im asking but i figured i would ask, i work around soda all day but have not drank any since going gluten-free because of the fountain

I wouldn't trust the fountain sodas if they wipe them with the same cloth that they wipe the counter with. My best suggestion, if you really want to drink the soda at work, is to take the nozzles off and clean them thoroughly before drinking out of them. The actual soda is gluten free, there's just a risk of cross contamination.

I get the same thing with vision in frames. It usually only happens when I'm really tired. I think it's just your optic nerve telling you that it can't function anymore without sleep. Who knows though. When this happens, try putting a warm cloth over your eyes. Not only will it sooth your eyes, but it may help you to go to sleep faster. It works very well for me. I either put it on my eyes or over one ear, either way it makes me desperately sleepy.

On a side note, if I were you I would try to stay away from caffein. It's a diuretic and may increase any D that you've been experiencing. It also aids in sleeplessness and restless sleep. If you must drink soda, try to stick to sprite, sierra mist, ginger ale, and caffein free colas.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

I get my coke from a fountain, never had any problem with it. Usually, the only thing that touches the fountain nozzle is the drink itself. We wash the outside of it by soaking it in soapy water, then rinse and let air dry. No towel, sponge, or cloth is used, as they only cause clogging inside the nozzle, and are really not necessary.

FYI: I drank some Mug root beer the other day, and spent the rest of the day in the bathroom. I know the website says gluten-free, but I still had a reaction to it. Maybe it was one of the herbs they use for flavor?

I've never had trouble with a fountain drink, but I seldom drink them, and the only one I drink is Coke (or Pepsi).

Caffeine can be a vicious cycle -- you drink it to stay awake because you haven't had enough sleep -- then you don't get enough sleep because the caffeine keeps you awake all night. I only drink it when I'm getting enough sleep

It might take some time before you can get to sleep easily if you're used to a little smoke before bed. Be patient with it. I would imagine a few days is not enough time to get the drug out of your system.
