Mascara Brands gluten-free?

Recommended Posts

I have used Maybelline Great Lash for decades. It is the best mascara I have ever used, and it is inexpensive.

BUT!!! They have changed their packaging, and now the old pink and green tube is a dark, vivid pink/fuchia color. It SAYS "same great product", but I have noticed since I started using the new tube a couple of weeks ago that it SMEARS. I look fine when I leave the house in the morning, but a few hours later I have mascara all over the bags  under my eyes. That never used to happen with the old stuff.

Has anyone else tried the new stuff, and does it smear on you?

gluten-free since June, 2011

It took 3 !/2 years but my intolerances to corn, soy, and everything else (except gluten) are gone!

Life is good!

Yes, they have recently repackaged their Great Lash and I noticed that on the last one I bought. I have not noticed that it smears and I do like the washable kind, not the waterproof.

I use Lancome Definicils. I called them about 4 months ago and they said it was gluten free. I've called them several times and they are always very nice. Many of their products are gluten free.

Same here. That is the only mascara I use too although I don't wear it often. It may be something else that is being reacted to but I don't think it is gluten.

Actually it says Wheat Protein in the ingredients list. That was my go-to mascara for years and all of a sudden I started having problems. Such a shame cause I loved it!

Hi Callie...can you post the brand and name of mascara you mention here?

This is an old thread, but we should make it clear for those that are reading along or find it during a search regarding mascara.

Thanks :)

All the info on this bread is 5 years old so re- check everything.

I don't worry about mascara. I don't think it will accidentally get in my mouth.
