Muscle Relaxers

Ya' know when you accidentally gluten yourself by eating a bag of Doritos without reading the label because you're a moron? And ya' know how you get those painful and intense cramps in your gut that keep you in a doubled-over position?

Has anyone tried muscle relaxers? I'm thinking Flexerall...I have some left over from something else. Think it'll help?

I guess it might be worth a try Courtney. Let us know if it works.

I'm not sure it's a good idea. It might not hurt to try, though, I don't know. But I find that sepia (a homeopathic remedy) really helps my stomach ache and bowel cramps.

Flexorall was prescribed to me in the early stages of GI trouble, before i was ever diagnosed. They thought that my muscle tightness was causing the cramping and contributing to the D. I found that the Flex actually made it much harder to get to the bathroom on time and I didn't notice any improvement in symptoms. Every person reacts differently to medications though. It also gave me RLS symptoms and made it very hard for me to do anything without constant movement (like sleeping or sitting on the toilet). Ugh...

Do you have any bentyl? Flexeril works on the striated muscles, bentyl on smooth muscles.

You can buy it in the health food store. It's a homeopathic remedy, you know, in the form of tiny white pills. You can't touch them (your body oil will contaminate them), but pour some (I usually use six at a time) into the lid, and pour them under your tongue, where you let them dissolve.

And while you think you may have lactose issues (and it may be more than that, like casein), you might want to try cutting out dairy.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
