I'm sorry i forget what the operation is for?

Can you remeind me? Good luck

Dad is having major surgery through his back  to get at a big cluster of kidney stones that they cannot access laproscopically.

OMG.......wheeled him into the pre-op waiting area this am, and many other seniors were sitting there, waiting also. One lady suddenly says, "Gasp!. . .......Les! I saw you and your wife on the news yesterday!" and the man beside her said, "YES! Happy anniversary to you both!" and the lady beside my mom piped in, "Sixty years!" And on it went, all these nurses suddenly crowding in, saying they had seen them both. . . .... Unbelievable that so many arbitrary people watch these local newscasts....... .

So, I left to go park, my dad telling everyone how the 60th wedding anniversary is traditionally Diamond. I hear him say, "So, I thought, jeez, I should get her the gift of a lifetime. So I bought her thirteen diamonds. I bought her a deck of cards".......

Tomorrow is John's sisters bridal shower and then my family is coming to visit on Sunday. We are going to head to the flea market and have some fun. It will be the first time my dad sees our new house so I am excited.

Yay, Amanduh! Sounds like fun. Don't forget yer bra .. . . . ...

when I was little, my mom sometimes road off in the station wagon, with Lucy Baines still atop the car, unbeknownst to me mum

Again, SO much like the action goin' on at the retirement home.... .. I actually think there is a Lucy Baines living there, who drools and has climbed on top of departing cars.. . . . .....

Em - just LURVE that romantic pic of your parents - would have that framed in an 8 x 10 or larger.......it could be one of your ONLY true photos, with actual family members, only it's so good, no one would believe it wasn't just the Walmart frame models :snorkel:

This is the problem! I display a rare great photo or two of family in me house, and everyone thinks the people are frame models. . . .... .

But SHAVING - ugh. Me legs. Porcupines.:angry: have to shave them EVERY day. HEINOUS

Wow.. . . ......... . . Yiddish speakers, for whatever the reason, have a whole lot of words for penis... . . . . ...

One can ne'er have too many words for the male anatomy.

It's funny to me to read all of those words in that dictionary, it feels like I'm in the 'way-back' machine. Suddenly I'm 5 years old, listening to my granny tell me to 'make pischy' in the bathroom at Kresge.

Good times...good times

My mum's phamilee were some pretty intense people. Long suffering, to be sure. So much guilt, so little time.

I has killed the itch!!!

Hmmm...that's what my husband says, every time I take off me clothes <_<

Have I told you about our IBTC?.....That's the Itty Bitty Titty Committee.

Sadly, I was forced to surrender my IBTC member card at age 17 1/2, whenst the TT fairy paid me a surprise visit and me blossoms near exploded out me wardrobe. She brought along her friend, the chin hair fairy

:o D'ya suppose they've hooked up and are wandering around together?

 Who does the walking?

Just trying to wrap my wee litt'l mind round this. Is it like two apples atop a tarsal scooter, or a foot driving along pushing two boob pedals ?

<Squished-up face, nasally li'l voice> "One ringy-dingy.....*snort*......Two ringy-dingies....!"

Good luck to your Pops, hope it all goes well!

"And dat's da twoof"

I am so happy tis going to be warm out this weekend. It is going to be a busy weekend as well.

Tomorrow is John's sisters bridal shower and then my family is coming to visit on Sunday. We are going to head to the flea market and have some fun. It will be the first time my dad sees our new house so I am excited.

That all sounds LOVELY!!

It is spectacular weather here in MI. Unfortunately, my daughter is home sick with a cold, so all of my great plans are Ka-boshed.

AND THERE'S MIMMS, to enhance my mirth and ribaldry!

As if I could  Suze, dear, your mirth tis quite ribald wifout me

My eggs are fine. I scared the becheezuz out of the mommy when I took that picture (hangin out my picture window, randomly pointing the camera down under the rhodedendrun). She's been a little shy since then. She burys them under leaves when she goes to eat, then sneaks back to keep them warm. My husband is sooo enjoying this, but I can barely hold my dog back from bolting out the front door. I'm afraid he'll get at the nest.

It's always somethin' around here.

Is there something you haven't been telling us? I thought it wuz just me and Ptaum who participated in that particular morning ritual.... If you do go out, don't forget your bra.

And, then, there's Peter...he's like a a Psilly Zoro or sumfin'. He doesn't say much for days and days, then suddenly pops in with these dead pan one-liners that make me positively GUFFAW!!

Z

In my world, the shaving ritual is known as "Trimming the Bush"

Hi @Ginger38, By now you know that these things improve without gluten. I once saw an interview with a corporation executive where he proudly declared that his wheat products are more addictive than potato chips. Dr Fuhrman (Eat to Live) said find foods that are friendly to you to be friends with.
    • cristiana
Hi @CC90 Ah... that is very interesting.  Although it is very annoying for you to have to go through it all again, I would say that almost sounds like an admission that they didn't look far enough last time?   I could be wrong, but I would not be at all surprised if they find something on the next attempt.  Coeliac damage can be very patchy, as I understand it, so that's why my own gastroenterologist always likes to point out that he's taken lots of samples!  In the kindest possible way (you don't want to upset the person doing the procedure!) I'd be inclined to tell them what happened last time and to ask them in person to take samples lower down, as  if your health system is anything like the one in my country, communication between GPs, consultants and hospitals isn't always very good.  You don't want the same mistake to be made again. You say that your first endoscopy was traumatic?  May I ask, looking at your spelling of coeliac, was this done at an NHS hospital in England?  The reason for the question is that one of my NHS diagnosed friends was not automatically offered a sedative and managed without one.  Inspired by her, I tried to have an endoscopy one time, in a private setting, without one, so that I could recover quicker, but I had to request sedative in the end it was so uncomfortable.    I am sorry that you will have to go through a gluten challenge again but to make things easier, ensure you eat things containing gluten that you will miss should you have to go gluten free one day. 😂 I was told to eat 2 slices of normal wholemeal bread or the equivalent every day in the weeks before , but I also opted for Weetabix and dozens of Penguin chocolate biscuits.  (I had a very tight headache across my temple for days before the procedure, which I thought was interesting as I had that frequently growing up. - must have been a coeliac symptom!)  Anyway, I do hope you soon get the answers you are looking for and do keep us posted. Cristiana
    • CC90
Hi Cristiana   Yes I've had the biopsy results showing normal villi and intestinal mucosa.  The repeat endoscopy (requested by the gastro doc) would be to take samples from further into the intestine than the previous endoscopy reached.
    • Wheatwacked
Transglutaminase IgA is the gold-standard blood test for celiac disease. Sensitivity of over 90% and specificity of 95–99%. It rarely produces false positives.  An elevated level means your immune system is reacting to gluten.  Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) does not typically cause high levels of tTG-IgA. Unfortunately the protocols for a diagnosis of Celiac Disease are aimed at proving you don't have it, leaving you twisting in the wind. Genetic testing and improvement on a trial gluten free diet, also avoiding milk protein, will likely show improvement in short order if it is Celiac; but will that satisfy the medical system for a diagnosis? If you do end up scheduling a repeat endoscopy, be sure to eat up to 10 grams of gluten for 8 - 12 weeks.  You want  to create maximum damage. Not a medical opinion, but my vote is yes.

Cristiana asks a very relevant question. What looks normal to the naked eye may not look normal under the microscope.
