Well...

All right, I'm a wee bit...uh, tipsy? Drunk? No, not that, not quite...OMG, went to my good friend's for a late lunch, we four gals sat in her hot tub outside (it's -5C, here), surrounded by snow and ice, just our heads sticking up from the froth, drinking champagne. Heavennnnn...the jets were right on my feet and hamstrings.

Then we stumbled inside, had wine and GLUTEN-FREE quiche, with this incredible coconut pumpkin soup...exchanged gifts, and then I drove erratically home.

I had very little mojo this morning, but boy, did that do me good. But I need to give my head a good shake...I have things to mark, a big portrait job to do by Friday...gad...this reminds me of having to produce academically while I was in university, after an afternoon in the pub...

Maybe I should go make snow angels in my underwear. We talked about it in the hot tub, but alas, weren't tipsy enough.

Ok . .. .. .here's me skipping all the back&forth pageloads for proper quoting. :P

Emily! "Indeed, my classiest of entrances..."

Amanda! "pulled an Amanda" !!

Hey!!! Patti? Boehv?? Wherefore art thou?!!

(Uh-oh & hmmmmm . . .. .can thou be plural? so confuuuuuuused .. . )

Janet!!! A dreaded Lost Post???!!

BUT .. . .I swear my method retrieves any and all 'lost' posts!!

1st time I went through it I even changed my av to show the browser's crucial little triangle/arrow sitting within the [bACK] button, on the right.

The alleged 'lost' post reappears if you click the triangle/arrow and select the SECOND page down.

(I NEVER EVER feel like I explain this well enough :( )

Of course just hitting the [bACK] button doesn't work. We've all tried that. Gotta SKIP a page.

And hitting the button twice quickly can't work either.

So USE The Force Luke. .. . ..errrr I mean the little triangle, Janet.

Christmas Letters!! I'm a fan and don't understand why anyone would jerk about 'em. (Edit: JERK about 'em??!! Sheesh good thing I didn't write "b!tch off on her" huh?)

I'm not sure your goal should be to be "wittier every year". Unless you'd planned ahead and begun w/ the dullest drivel possible, hence leaving significant room for improvement.

[start tangential anecdote]

(Heehee in a college Composition class the teacher said we'd be graded on Improvement, so I took a dive. Started w/ a C or D but got an easy A for the semester :P:lol: )

[/tangential anecdote]

I bet you blew it w/ the very first letter, saturated and dripping w/ wit, setting a standard reminiscent of Bob Beamon's 1968 Olympic Long Jump, unmatched for decades!

<too sporty?>

Susie!! How can a single sentence start w/ a claim of "lost my funny" yet end w/ the combo reference "million pieces of yeti confetti"!!! ??:lol:

A mere 11 words 'twixt hypothesis and disproving same!!! :o

[/end page 420]

You gotta get some new friends

:lol::lol:

And love the new Av, Jess. Really puts me in the Christmas spirit.

Hey!!! Patti? Boehv?? Wherefore art thou?!!

(Uh-oh & hmmmmm . . .. .can thou be plural? so confuuuuuuused .. . )

No, No, No. In order to pluralize thou, you must add an s. . . thus. . . thous.

Janet!!! A dreaded Lost Post???!!

BUT .. . .I swear my method retrieves any and all 'lost' posts!!

No, twas a wireless connection issue. Tweren't no back button nor triangle that was gonna save that post.

I'm TELLin' ya .. . ..the cause of the problem matters not.

The typed words don't evaporate. (Unless you reboot or manually clear the browser's cache)

My "skipping back" two pages would've saved yer butt.

Sillyville usually rolls up the sidewalks at night!

(note repeat usage of Word-A-Day type words to ensure proper integration into Janet's Christmas Epistle)

Which reminds me . .. . .was at Trivia Night at a bar last night. Buddy Tony's been doing it for years and it's more fun than you think. (Yeah, YOU!)

Um, ahem, excuse me, played Trivia in Monterey at not one but TWO pubs, and sometimes even a third, occasionally. OMG we were the Trivia Moguls.......I was the only civilian amongst all these military officers from Naval Postgraduate School.......we did have quite a team, they of the sensible and science/math minds, and then I pulled up the rear in art and literature, and Knowledge of Utter Nonsense.......

Ah, I had my mojo back then......and a spanx-less mid-section.........

I am so upset tonight. The weather has canceled all my plans for my big weekend with my mom. Due to an ice storm here and a huge snowfall where she is and then another incoming storm this weekend her birthday suprise isn't going to happen. I was looking forward to this for a few weeks now...

Aw Amanda, so sorry about your plans with mom.... :(

Um.......the trivia pubs in Monterey.......'tis a bygone era. The best one was Mucky Duck, on Alvarado - I don't think they do it any more. 'Twas FIERCE and serious trivia. Taht is a STINKY-ass pub - with too many youngsters....the back patio, with giant fire pits, is quite nice, though. The other trivia pub - just a complete GOOFball night - London Bridge Pub on the second wharf......loads of fun....don't know if they do it any more either. WAY more fun when you know people on the teams, and we knew the owners of the bar.......

the BEST pub in Monterey - good gawd, can't remember the name but will think of it - oh! Crown and Anchor - downstairs in a basement - - very British, very cozy, and the food used to be decent.

OMG I am soooooooooooooooo cold........

And there's Emily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I've been truly mojoed. Champagne, followed by a lovely Riesling, whilst wallowing in a steamy hot tub on a snowy, treed landscape... truly splendorifoUs.

Not making some marks, silly! Marking to do...ya know, heinous English papers. I'm also doing a HUGE portrait job for my daughter's hockey team...long, boring description needed, and I shall spare everyone. Hi @Ginger38, By now you know that these things improve without gluten. I once saw an interview with a corporation executive where he proudly declared that his wheat products are more addictive than potato chips. Dr Fuhrman (Eat to Live) said find foods that are friendly to you to be friends with.
    • cristiana
Hi @CC90 Ah... that is very interesting.  Although it is very annoying for you to have to go through it all again, I would say that almost sounds like an admission that they didn't look far enough last time?   I could be wrong, but I would not be at all surprised if they find something on the next attempt.  Coeliac damage can be very patchy, as I understand it, so that's why my own gastroenterologist always likes to point out that he's taken lots of samples!  In the kindest possible way (you don't want to upset the person doing the procedure!) I'd be inclined to tell them what happened last time and to ask them in person to take samples lower down, as  if your health system is anything like the one in my country, communication between GPs, consultants and hospitals isn't always very good.  You don't want the same mistake to be made again. You say that your first endoscopy was traumatic?  May I ask, looking at your spelling of coeliac, was this done at an NHS hospital in England?  The reason for the question is that one of my NHS diagnosed friends was not automatically offered a sedative and managed without one.  Inspired by her, I tried to have an endoscopy one time, in a private setting, without one, so that I could recover quicker, but I had to request sedative in the end it was so uncomfortable.    I am sorry that you will have to go through a gluten challenge again but to make things easier, ensure you eat things containing gluten that you will miss should you have to go gluten free one day. 😂 I was told to eat 2 slices of normal wholemeal bread or the equivalent every day in the weeks before , but I also opted for Weetabix and dozens of Penguin chocolate biscuits.  (I had a very tight headache across my temple for days before the procedure, which I thought was interesting as I had that frequently growing up. - must have been a coeliac symptom!)  Anyway, I do hope you soon get the answers you are looking for and do keep us posted. Cristiana
    • CC90
Hi Cristiana   Yes I've had the biopsy results showing normal villi and intestinal mucosa.  The repeat endoscopy (requested by the gastro doc) would be to take samples from further into the intestine than the previous endoscopy reached.
    • Wheatwacked
Transglutaminase IgA is the gold-standard blood test for celiac disease. Sensitivity of over 90% and specificity of 95–99%. It rarely produces false positives.  An elevated level means your immune system is reacting to gluten.  Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity (NCGS) does not typically cause high levels of tTG-IgA. Unfortunately the protocols for a diagnosis of Celiac Disease are aimed at proving you don't have it, leaving you twisting in the wind. Genetic testing and improvement on a trial gluten free diet, also avoiding milk protein, will likely show improvement in short order if it is Celiac; but will that satisfy the medical system for a diagnosis? If you do end up scheduling a repeat endoscopy, be sure to eat up to 10 grams of gluten for 8 - 12 weeks.  You want  to create maximum damage. Not a medical opinion, but my vote is yes.

Cristiana asks a very relevant question. What looks normal to the naked eye may not look normal under the microscope.
