Ground Spices?

Recommended Posts

On the list of things to watch out for, it says that ground spices sometimes contain wheat to prevent clumping. If a particular spice does contain wheat, would this be printed on the label?

Sometimes wheat will be listed (and the new label law requires this, so only one older products would it not be) on spices if it's present as an anti-clump agent. However, McCormick's clearly labels, and I use their spices all the time. I've never tried other brands because I trust McCormick's so much (and I can find them just about anywhere).

And there is your answer, thanks Julie.

McCormick's serves us well and I choose to support them.

I agree about MCormick's, but the only spices I've ever found gluten is an occasional blend. And those seem to have disappeared.

I have seen no-name brands up here in Canada with a cc wheat statement on them or wheat being listed in the ingredients.
