Pamela's Baking Mix

Recommended Posts

Can the Pamela's mix be used like you would Bisquick? I looked on the Pamelas website and they have recipes for waffles, pie crusts, biscuits, that kind of thing, but I'm wondering if it can be used in main dish meals. I've never used Bisquick before but I know there are lots of recipes out there for things like cheeseburger pie, ect. Anyone have any ideas on how to sub the Pamelas mix for the Bisquick? Thanks!

thats exactly what I have been saying since I discovered Pamelas. I use it all the time, just like you would use bisquick. Its fabulous.

I haven't noticed this mix here in Dallas at the stores I've been going to. Haven't used any mixes yet, I've been making my own flour blends (for bread, muffins, pancakes), but I'm definately going to need to purchase or make one for chicken & dumplings. I used jiffy mix (like bisquick) to make the dumplings BC (before celiac). lm

Hi

We use Pamela's so much we buy it in bulk. My mother uses it to make great cobler toppings. I used it recently to make graham crakers.

I have been using Pamela's baking mix with mostly wonderful results. I substitute it cup for cup in many recipes. It makes especially wonderful waffles. I have made numerous cookies using the mix, even cut-outs that were as good as using wheat flour.

A few questions for anyone who has used it...does anyone know the ratio of ingredients in the mix, I'd like to make my own. And how can it be purchased in bulk? Thanks for the help!

I have seen it recently in a 4 pound bag in a health food store in cheyenne WY so I am hoping to be able to find it online soon as well.

also my hubby says the pancakes taste almost as good as my "from stratch" ones did in "my life before"

Hey are you guys talking about the pancake mix or the bread mix? I like the breadmix because it's free of a lot of allergens. The pancake mix has buttermilk :( Has anyone used the bread mix to make pancakes though?

You can get the four-pound bag on amazon right now. Here's the link: http://www.amazon .com/Pancake-Baking-Wheat...9295&sr=8-2

I love this stuff and substitute it in all my old wheat recipes. The only thing it really hasn't worked in was my Sprinkles Bakery cupcake recipe. They sunk in the middle. I'm sure I can tweak it with added leavening.

I am really interested in buying this, it sounds perfect, thanks for telling me about this. I just bought rice flour mix from an online store, but this stuff sounds better.

Hmm, I can't get the link to work, but if you go to amazon .com and search for pamelas mix, it will come up on the first page.
