gluten-free But Still Getting Sick

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I've been gluten-free for a little over 2 months now and have been feeling better. However, twice in that time I've been sick, and I KNOW it was from gluten (same pain, etc). Is something like this normal? I figgured it was leftover, or something occult like micro amounts in chapstick and toothpaste or what have you. Whjat do you guys think?

hi,

It may be for a fwe reasons, firsly yes ther may be amounts left over. to protect against this i would suggest you for example buy new scrubbing equipment for your plates pans etc etc.

also you could check that your dietry intake really is gluten free, some products are marked as being gluten free but still contain tiny amounts, very small amounts but if your supersensitive it may cause problems.

Or you could be in my position, the damage from coelaics and reduced my guts ability to break down my food, so the digested food then goes onto iriatate my digestive tract (the same way as a food intolerance would) the glutened feeling is fairly similar to this one only the intolerance is much more immediate/serve. I doubt if you do have food intolerances that they are as serve as mine though as otherwise you'd realise it! milk is a very common one for coelaics to be intolerant too, don't worry though these intolerances are only temperary, while the gut heals.

After it happened, were you able to make any guesses about how you were contaminated?
