Anyone In The Albany/corvallis/philomath Oregon Area?

I live in Albany Oregon, work at my own little me-only housekeeping biz with most my jobs in Corvallis area, and my daughter with my two grand girls 2 and 5yrs (all celiac disease) live in Philomath. I've been celiac disease for nearly 20 years, my daughter too, and my grand girls have never known anything else. My daughter and the girls have had good doctors who suggested that they not give any gluten to the girls for their first year at least, then try it. They both got sick on the gluten.

It was difficult to convince the other grandma who babysits them frequently. She still doesn't pay enough attention to ingredients and gives the girls hot dogs and now and then candy with gluten or whatever. For a long time she kept giving them stuff she shouldn't and because there was no immediate reaction, she thought it was all in our heads. But now that it has been years of struggle, she can see the long-term effect on the kids and she is much more carefull.

My mother was diagnosed 20yrs ago and that was what triggered the rest of us to check it out. My mother is 76 now and has a real hard time keeping away from gluten. She lives in La Grande Oregon and there are very few resources there. She will not use a computer, and is very isolated from the celiac disease world.

I hope to find some friends with celiac disease that I can go out to eat with now and then...or have a pic-nic or just share stuff.
