What Is The Real Diagnosis?

Recommended Posts

For years I have had IB. My mom and grandmother have it as well.

Finally the doctor tested for celiac. First the blood test was positive for celiac, so l lived a gluten-free life for a year, started eating bad foods and was retested, it was negative. I saw a gastro specalist and had an endoscopy done and it was normal along with the biopsy. Is there any real way to know?

If you saw health improvement on the gluten-free diet, I'd say you have it. The later blood test and biopsy just show you healed. You have to be eating gluten for MONTHS for the test to show damage.

Positive dietary response and a positive blood test is a pretty sure sign you have it.
