In general, oats are contaminated with wheat. There are a handful of specialized (expensive) oats that are not, but they are not used in commercial products. I would absolutely avoid products made with oats (and, hence, oat flour, oat bran, oat germ, etc.).

Sometimes a very simple, common question doesn't get very many responses. Having been here for a few months I think I know why. These discussions tend to repeat about every month or so, and your just out of the cycle, ie. we just had a big one on oats a while back.

You can, however, find 12500 posts on oats (all of the discussions) in a matter of seconds by doing a search. At the top of the page is the search function. It has instructions. Simply backspace "tomato sauce" out of there, and replace it with "oats". It will now be:

oats site:www.glutenfreeforum.com

Now click on the search button. Have fun, lm
