Bag Of Chicken, Bush Beans Or Franks Red Hot

Recommended Posts

Last night I had chicken wings with franks red hot and bush beans and I woke up at 1 am in major pain. I had thought i had read everything and it showed they were gluten free, but now I am wondering if they are not.

According to Bush's all of their beans are safe EXCEPT their chili magic line.

I have never eaten Frank's hot sauce, but it is gluten free.

Did your chicken have any fillers, anything injected?

Could it have just been all the spicyness that made you feel gross?

Sometimes with celiac disease, we tend to over analyze and think every ache and pain comes from it. I would think that the combination of the meal you had might just have resulted in your pain, since you didn't mention if you were getting symptoms, or just felt brutal. Either way, feel better.

Sounds like all should be gluten-free. While most chicken has some "flavoring" added or "injected," it has to list gluten if it's there.

Dear Paula,

I would assume it was a cc issue. Bush's beans are all safe except for the Chili, Chili Magic line, and chili beans. All of the baked beans are safe. I think you may have been accidentally cc'd by something. If you have non-gluten-free family members, they may have accidentally done it.

Sincerely,

I know Franks and that line of Bush's beans are good. Most all wings I have ever seen(frozen at least) are gluten-free. As for fresh, Not much bread in the butcher area, so fresh would probably be too. (ask the butcher, they generally like to talk anyways... :>)

Where they typical grilled wings? That's a classic spot for cross-contamination. Before I knew(ok that I admitted) that I had celiac, I grilled bread and other things all the time. I gave my grill away and bought a new one(bigger more fun! :>)

CC on cooking utinsels is a big thing. I have my own frying pans. And the grill is strictly gluten-free. Things like stainless steel and glass I am not so concerned about. as they do wash very well.
