On May 20, 2007, there will be a walk in Queens (Whitestone/Bayside). It's "The L Lodico Walk for Celiac Disease. The walk is being held in honor of Lina Lodico's daughters (6 & 4 1/2 years old). Lina also has celiac disease and wants to make her daughter's adulthood and easier one. She isn't charging any fees for vendors to come. For any info, please go to her website: www.glutenfreeforever.info .

On October 14, 2007, there will be "The Colin Leslie Walk for Celiac Disease" held by the Westchester Celiac Sprue Support Group--held in Rye, NY. They also will be holding a Gluten Free Vendor Fair--Dr Peter Green and nutritionist Anne Lee of the Celiac Disease Center At Columbia University will be doing presentations. They are both wonderful people. For more info: www.celiacdiseasecenter.org and click on the link for the walk. We urge all doctors to take time to listen to your patients.. don't "isolate" symptoms but look at the whole spectrum. If a patient tells you s/he feels as if s/he's falling apart and "nothing seems to be working properly", chances are s/he's right!

"The calm river of your life approaches the rocky chute of the rapids - flow on through. You are the same water. The rocks cannot hurt you. Remember, now and then, that you are the water and not the boat. Flow on!
