Activated Charcoal?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I thought I read somewhere that Activated Charcoal helps with gas and the belly pains, I use tons of rolaids multi-symptom chewables because my belly just blows up with air and gets very painful. If you have used charcoal or are using it I would love your input on it, how does it help you? also, which brands are safe?

thanks!

I take activated charcoal. I dont know about gas pains and such....my Dr. has me taking it because I'm on treatment for yeast and heavy metals. Charcoal helps to absorb toxins in the gut (i.e. yeast die-off). I just buy the brand they sell at Whole Foods.

Careful.. it might not be gluten-free. To activate charcoal they use an "organic material" , quite often thats coconut, but it CAN be wheat. One of our more esteemed members here found that (well in her case it was coconut that was the problem) out the hard way when her water filter on her fridge was contaminating her water. :(
