Recommend A Really Great gluten-free Dessert?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend a really great gluten-free dessert that the normal gluten eating population would love? I have to bring a dessert to a party. My normal standby awsome dessert is a flourless choclate cake, but this dessert has to be chocolate free.

Any thoughts?

If you can find it my favorite is Gluten-Free Pantry's Angel Food Cake mix. Especially if you have a big stand mixer. I think it is exactly like a gluteny angel food cake. Love it.

This is my favorite desert of all time. I haven't made it since going gluten-free but I suspect even with the normal brands I was using it is already gluten free. If not, it would be easy to substitute a gluten-free brand for any gluten containing item in this list.

A couple of warnings however. This is not a desert you make and take. This has to be made on site and eating immediately. Also, the there are not enough digits on your calorie counter to count the calories in this thing!

If you can get your hands on a bag of the Gluten Free Pantry truffle brownie mix. That is a crowd pleaser and non-celiac enjoy it as much if not more than we do.

APPLE CRISP

10 Apple peeled and diced

1 cup of brown sugar

3 tbsp of cinnamon

1 box of Enjoy life - Cinnamon cluster cereal ( not sure if that is the right name but they only have the 3 choices of cereal and the cinnamon one is the one you need.

Mix apple, sugar and cinnamon and put in a casserole dish.

Crush the cereal into smaller peices, mix with 1 tsp on cinnamon and 1/4 cup of brown sugar and sprinke over the top of the apple mixture.

BAKE 350 for about 30-45 minutes.

If you want it low fat you can use sugar free brown sugar splenda.

I like it and most people I fed it to liked it and didn't know it was fat free or gluten free so I think it is good.

People who don't have a lactose problem will eat it with ice cream or whip cream. I eat it just plain.

Good luck

Kelly

Strawberries are in season here! How a strawberry pavlova? It's a meringue crust spread with real whipped cream and piled high with lush, beautiful berries. It's delicious and naturally gluten-free.
