Natural Glutening Remedy

I have had occasional accidental glutenings over the past 6 months (haven't we all?).

The best remedy I've found is tea. I have had success with Lemon Balm tea. Lemon Balm is a medieval herb used for stomach problems and as a sleep aide. We have some growing in our yard. You can also buy seeds and I have bought tea bags.

Peppermint tea is also an old-fashioned stomach remedy.

Both should be harmless in normal quantities and I think are much better than using Immodium. I keep a bag or two in my wallet. They decrease the nausea and the stomach cramps, help me sleep and get me feeling better, faster.

I buy the Organic Mint Medley tea at Trader Joe's...it has peppermint, spearmint and lemon grass. Very tasty.

Thanks for the post - I'm always looking for natural remedies to my stomach issues! I don't have a Trader Joe's (in Colorado...yet) Do you know of any other brands that are gluten-free? I wonder if Celestial Seasonings has one, they always label it if it's gluten-free....

Cesestial Seasonings has lemon balm combined with cammomile (sp?) but I'm allergic to that; it's one of their blends. They have a few mint flavors too. You could try Whole Foods or Wild Oats too.

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.
