Wawa Iced Coffee

Recommended Posts

One of my co-workers was nice enough to bring in iced coffee to the office. I know their coffee is gluten free, but this was a pre-made mix with milk and sugar in it. Does anyone know if it is safe? I looked online and it doesn't give any nutritional information and there is no phone number to contact WaWa. I've emailed them, but I was hoping for an answer before my coffee melts.

Thanks,

Erin

GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! This is the email I sent:

To: Wawa Customer Relations

Subject: Customer Relations:Other

Hello,

I was wondering what ingredients were in your iced coffee? Specifically, is there any gluten (wheat, barley, rye, or oats and their by products)?

I asked at the store and all that they could tell me was that there were milk and sugar products, but that they did not know what the preservatives or additives were. Because over 1 in 133 people have an autoimmune disease (Celiac Disease) and that prevents them from consuming gluten and roughly 5% of the population has gluten sensitivity, it would be extremely helpful if you would provide ingredient information about what your food contains.

Thank you,

Erin

Thank you for your interest in Wawa products. Our no sugar added iced coffee is made with sucralose, which is known in the industry as Splenda.

So, I have no answer. I am going to write back and see if they can be more specific. I'll keep you posted

That's good to know. I have my MRI on a celiac disease as it was requested by an ENT consultant to take a look at but again this is someone who isn't looking in regards to gluten ataxia but I can mention it to them and also give it to...
