I went out with my Red Hat group tonight, and one of the other members is celiac. I've known her for a couple of years, but did not know she was celiac. I think she told me she was diagnosed in 1984, so she has dealt with it for a long time, and is really upbeat about it.

I really did not intend to eat gluten-free tonight (I'm not officially diagnosed yet) but the place we had intended to go for dinner was closed, and the place we ended up had lots of gluten-free stuff on the menu, though not labeled as such. I had a salad, steak, baked potato, asparagus, and a marguerita! Yum!

So glad to run into another celiac. I don't feel so alone now. :P

Isn't it great to meet another celiac? I met one at my orthodontists office, she worked in the lab. I have had my braces off a few months now and we still keep in touch. She is helping me with the flowers for my wedding.
