Swanson's Organic Beef Broth

Recommended Posts

I just bought a container of the Swanson's Organic Beef Broth. It states that it is gluten free on the front of the package. I looked at the back and it has a recipe for a barley soup. Does that make sense of what!

To us, that sounds odd, but to most people who don't have Celiac or gluten intolerance--and don't read labels like we do--it's just another recipe on a can of broth.

I agree, though--to us it makes no sense at all :D

Odd but most people like to have a recipe to use. To us it seems out of this world since the product is gluten free. Patti brings up a point, most people will look at it as another thing to make on a can.

I am thinking the broth is gluten free. They can still have recipes that have gluten. Don't ya think?

I am learning too.

It's probably a useful recipe for the 98% of people who can have wheat. :)

But when you're used to living in the gluten-free bubble, I know it can be hard to remember that.

I think wowzer was just trying to say it was kind of funny and ironic, not that s/he had a problem with the recipe being there ;)

Sounds like bitter irony to me as well. But perhaps, to those who are only allergic to wheat, and can tolerate all the otehr silly grains we are unable to eat as well, it may be good. But I can see how at first glance that recipe could be a silly idea.
