Very pretty!

hehe thanks, Patti.

My butt hurts from sitting on it too much today (what a waste of a Sexy Sunday LOL j/k) so I'm off to the gym. Have a lovely evening everyone.

Hopefully we'll wake up to a new special tomorrow :D

The longer it takes the more times I have to change my eyeshadow sampler.

This is my problem too, but I keep changing out my blushes.

I don't know why this is, but choosing blushes has been so much more complicated, confusing, and difficult for me than choosing eye shadow colors. I am constantly changing my mind

Gorgeous avatar Mango, your EM looks so good!!!!!

I have the hardest time with blushes too. I think they are less forgiving then the eye shadows.

Ok, I've been searching through the EM board for ideas.

Anyone else have problems with their eye shadows staying on all day. Mine seems to disappear toward the end of the day?

Solution: Put a layer of foundation or finishing powder under the eye shadow. Today I'll try it and see!

I always put an layer of foundation under my eye shadow lol. It still comes off for me but then again i rub my eyes alot during the day so maybe that is why it comes off lol.

ok 2.5 hours then im looking for new makeup, so it better show up lol.

Mango, i love your avatar, you are very pretty.

Yes, I've done that and it works great!!! I've also copied all the color swatches to a Word doc (hey, I sit at a computer all day and ocassionaly have a lot of time on my hands, lol).

LOL, I should have known. I thought about copying all the colors, but haven't done so YET.

Mango, your picture is beautiful.

Well, I don't know how much longer I can wait for a special to show up. I need a new sample kit of foundations. Do they ever just not have a special?

It won't load for me either. Maybe they are finally doing the website upgrade they keep talking about. Or maybe the next special is so gynormous it crashed the whole thing.

Thanks, you guys are so nice. B)

One day if I'm feeling brave I'll post before *shudder* and after pics. Hmmm...on second thought, maybe I'll just keep pretending that my face with eight layers of foundation and ten layers of concealer is what I really look like

So who's going to be next to post pics? Colleen, Joni, Paula? C'mon guys, we all want to see how fabulous you look! :D

I can't get onto the EM website either. Maybe they are launching their new one? That would be so exciting! :)

Julie - I'm on a mission to find us an EM equivalent of Warmth. Everytime I google it for an answer this thread comes up  , so that doesn't help. I came close last night wtih Tea Time, but it's a bit more peachy and less red/brown. I'm thinking maybe the everyday bronzer or bouquet?

LOL! I was scared just sending my 'before' shot to EM and that's not public. lol!

Hello all. I stumbled across this site the other day, and ordered the sample kit when I found this thread....I can't get over the prices, they're so affordable! Everyone here seems to love the stuff, so I'm anxious to try it out. Thank you all for sharing this information!

Okay so I ordered on a tuesday or wed. and got them on a friday. just the samples of course, I got the matte, the semi matte, a multitasker, and a sunshine thing, and the pink ribbon blush. its is soo lightweight and natural feeling everyone one at work couldnt even tell i had it on, except that i told them. i find the multi task one works really well. I am absolutely loving the everyday minerals, and when the tax return comes in, i am going to get more, so i have to use the samples until then, but it doesnt take much. this stuff is amazing, i am actually going to order my sister some samples, so she too can try it.

Well, I was going to post this picture of myself, but I thought it would make you all feel bad about how beautiful I am. It's not really me in the pic - I don't think she's heard of Everyday Minerals yet...

Welcome to the cult, Jodi and Shannon! You will find it is very addictive. I want their website to come back up so I can look at more EM makeup!

I am kind of intimidated now. Who does your hair, and can I have her number?

Welcome Shannon and Jodi!

Glad you both joined the group.

Yes Jodi, it is so nice to have makeup on and not feel like your face is heavy! I think that's one of the best things about it.

Well, the EM site is back up but I can't see anything different about it. I checked 'news', the special, brushes, and the eye and blush colors and it all looks the same to me. I wonder what's going on over there?

Ha! LOL Colleen. Is big hair back? I need to know these things before I go to my hairdresser next Wednesday, lol!

Maybe I'm dating myself (I hate that phrase), but we used to refer to ladies that teased their hair all up like that as the 'lady with the big hair' when describing them. LOL!

I think there's an "about everyday minerals" section that's new, or did I just never notice that? (just grasping for something here LOL) No new special yet though.

So I think I figured out what's causing the little bumps I'm getting all over my cheeks (since I'm sure you are all on the edges of your seats, dying to know  ).

I've been using toxic mascara  and I noticed yesterday that when I remove my eye make-up, I swipe the cotton pad thing across my eyes then across the tops of my cheeks. So for now, I'm going to blame Maybelline instead of EM :D I'll have to pick up some Ecco Bella and see if that makes a difference.

jerseyangel Proficient

OMG Mango--I'll bet it is the Maybelline that is causing your breakouts. I had to stop using it after many years--I loved the stuff, and had been using it since high school, I think.

When I looked over all my products for gluten, the formula I used contained wheat germ oil--I don't know if they all do or not.

Ecco Bella is good, but if you want to pick something up quick at the drugstore, Almay "One Coat" mascaras are all gluten-free. I verified that by phone, and use the nourishing one with no problem.

:o:o

Thanks for the info Patti. I saw the Maybelline stuff for $4 and couldn't resist  (everyone raves about that dang stuff). I just looked up the ingredients, and I can't decode the words well enough to know if there's wheat in it, but OMG it's scary:

Water, Beeswax, Ozokerite, Shellac, Glyceryl Stearate, Triethanolamine, Propylene Glycol, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Methlparaben, Quaternium 15, Simethicone, Quaternium 22, Butylparaben, May Contain (+/-): Iron Oxides (CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Carmine (CI 75470).

Compared to Ecco Bella:

Purified water, carnauba wax, palmitic acid (from palm oil), clay, methylparaben, propylparaben, iron oxide

I hope EM comes out with a mascara soon! :D

Dang, I love my Maybelline(sp?) Looks like its time for some new mascara...I never thought i would be so happy with a make up, since all the liquids make me break out horrible, doesnt matter what i was using, but so far so good, been wearing EM for 3 days, and normally it takes just a day to break out. so i think i found the "Good Stuff"!!!!

guess its time to go look at all the good stuff on the EM site...see what else i can spend money on...my Boyfriend sean is going to kill me....lol

jerseyangel Proficient

Wow--those ingredients do sound scary--shellac???

The one that at least used to contain the wheat germ oil is the pink tube with the bright green top. Maybe they at least stopped using that.

I agree--can't wait till EM comes out with one! :)

HeartofGlass224 Rookie

Thank you guys for the welcome. :) I was diagnosed with a wheat and egg allergy last month, and am just starting to eat the way I should be today. I heard about some makeup causing issues, and that's when I found you all. :)

Pity about the mascara...I've been using that pink tube with the green top forever!

I'm so excited about EM, I haven't even gotten my sample kit, and I've got am "I Can't Believe It" kit almost filled already!

He is not just a psychiatrist.  He is also a neuroscientist.  And yes, I have already read those studies.   I agree with benfotiamine.  This is short term while glutened/inflammation occurs.  As I had already mentioned, these symptoms no longer exist when this phase passes.  And yes, I know that celiac is a disease of malnutrition.  We are working with a naturopath.

Please do more research before you settle on nicotine. Dr. Paul New house is a psychiatrist.  His latest study involves the effect of nicotine patches on Late Life Depression which has reached no long term conclusions about the benefits.   Effects of open-label transdermal nicotine antidepressant augmentation on affective symptoms and executive function in late-life depression https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39009312/   I'm approaching the subject from the Microbiologist's point of view which shows nicotine blocks Thiamine B1 uptake and usage:   Chronic Nicotine Exposure In Vivo and In Vitro Inhibits Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) Uptake by Pancreatic Acinar Cells https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26633299/   While supplementation with thiamine in the form Benfotiamine can protect from damage done by  nicotine: Benfotiamine attenuates nicotine and uric acid-induced vascular endothelial dysfunction in the rat https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18951979/   I suggest you study the beneficial effects of Thiamine (Benfotiamine and TTFD) on the body and mental health done by Dr. Derrick Lonsdale and Dr. Chandler Marrs.  Dr. Lonsdale had studied thiamine over fifty years.   Hiding in Plain Sight: Modern Thiamine Deficiency https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/ I suggest you read their book Thiamine Deficiency Disease, Dysautonomia, and High Calorie Malnutrition.     Celiac Disease is a disease of malabsorption causing malnutrition.  Thiamine and benfotiamine: Focus on their therapeutic potential https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10682628/

Thanks for your response.  Everything you mentioned he is and has been doing.  Tobacco is not the same as nicotine.  Nicotine, in the form of a patch, does not cause gastrointestinal irritation.  Smoking does. He is not smoking.  Please do your research before stating false information. Dr. Paul Newhouse has been doing research on nicotine the last 40 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.
    • trents
@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.
