Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!

Recommended Posts

Its fun reading this thread! Congrats on all the successes so far!

I see that I am really getting behind having only ordered one kit, and two lip glosses previously (with the sample kit each time). ;)

I decided that with my usual clothing colors the light neutral was just a tad too yellowish on me, but the multi-task was a bit too pink to blend with my natural skin color. So yesterday I started mixing them, and YES! I like this outcome! Actually I think I am doing a bit more multi-task than light neutral in the mix rather than half and half. I keep looking for something that doesn't accent fine lines and this is the best so far.

I'm interested in comments on the finishing powders too. I need to try more of these and more of the various foundation formulas.

I'm seeing a future self-help group, EMA (EverydayMinerals Anonymous - Hello, my name is Laura and I'm addicted to . . . ) :D:lol:

OK, so I'm not liking the foundation I picked, Fawn Matte. I think I look too pale - almost ghostly :o ! So I went back to my samples and found out that Golden Fair Matte with Pick Me Up Pink Concealor gives me more color.

Has anyone tried the finishing powers - which ones and what do you think of them?

I've got to go - my cart's been empty for a couple days and I'm starting to feel the shakes  !

Laura

LOL! Yes I am also addicted. Just had an order come in a couple days ago and am planning ahead already...

I tried the Tinted Silk Dust finishing powder. It really doesn't seem to do much at all? I used the Eve brush to apply it, but I'm not sure about the shade. Anyone know how to select a finishing powder shade. Darker, lighte or same shade as regular foundation???

I know Colleen! I just placed an order this morning that came to around $32 after my 10% discount. That included a kit with 4 blushes and 2 foundations, a mini eyeshadow kit (with 10 eyeshadows) and a free sample kit. Plus that amount should get me the two free brushes and two free eyeshadows, lol. $32 is about what a foundation at BE costs I think. Amazing to me really! And, the added benefit of my face not breaking out is just fantastic.

The little free sample kits are actually lasting me a LONG time. I think I've gotten 6 applications out of the little foundation sample so far and I still have plenty left. Amazing!

Yes, thanks Mango! :P

I agree the samples do last quite a while. And the ones that aren't the best shades can be used to mix with other things.

HURRY! HURRY!

There's a special for orders over $30 - 10% off AND three, count 'em, three brushes (fan, brow, & lip brushes) - but wait, there's more . . . - two of the holiday eye colors - full size!! Offer ends 12/31.

I just placed my order and I hope it comes before NYE!!

Oh boy, oh boy!! It's Christmas all over again!!

LOL! Are you working for EM? Getting free brushes on the side??? Hmmm....just kidding their specials are great.

No need to hunt, they delivered it just a few minutes after I posted, lol.

So glad they delivered it quickly. I'd hate to think what would have happened if it took a long time. Hehe!

I think their brushes are pretty good quality. It really makes a difference what brush you use for what makeup. I was using a stiffer brush for blush and it wasn't looking nice, but when I used the Eve brush the same color looked really nice.

Anyone ever sent a picture yet? I really want to just to see what shades/colors they come up with before my next order. I better hurry though or I'll never get it sent in time!

I think so too. The Eve brush is sort of magical  (and I got it for free! :D:D) I think it makes all blushes look good (well, at least the six or seven that I've tried so far :rolleyes:).

I'm having a blast mixing the colors. I think that is the best part of this makeup. Even shades that don't look so great can be fixed up to look GREAT.

Don't worry about only ordering one kit, you will catch up soon I'm sure!

Is it wrong to want to go put more makeup on after having just washed it all off?

LOL! I can relate Donna.

I spent time laying out all my makeup for tomorrow...then figured out what clothes will look good with my makeup. Hahaha!

I'd like to hear everyone's favorites so far.

For me:

foundation: Medium Beige Neutral (original or semi-matte, not sure yet)

blush: Nick Nack and Chit Chat

eye color: Silver Spoon

eye liner: like Smokey, but need to try a brown color

lip color: Spring Pink, Corner Office is a great lip color

What are your ladies favorites???

Donna, LOL. I just did that a couple of days ago, I was trying to compare the foundations I had again, and mixing them etc. I had decided the one I was using was a bit too yellow and was not going as well with the colors I wear--which I know are better for me.

Oh Donna--you've got it bad :P

Indeed!

What are your ladies favorites???

Well you can add me to the list of people who love Apple, lol.

So far:

Foundation: Fair Medium Semi-Matte--just got this one in yesterday's shipment and so far it's the best match I think...I've only had the make up on for about 75 minutes, but it's looking and feeling really good. This was my first sample of semi-matte...the others have been intensive and I think the semi-matte is better for me.

Blush: Apple and then Weekend Getaway (but those are the only two I've tried so far  )

Lip Gloss: I'm really liking the Cherry Fizz...my tube won't twist up, but I used a lip brush this morning and I really like it...very neutral and natural, but a hint of color which works well for my complexion.

Concealer: so far my favorite is just using a little bit of whatever foundation I'm wearing.

Brush: favorite so far, the long handled kabuki. Love it. I used my old "foundation" brush for foundation this morning mainly so I could compare coverage to what I've been doing. Once I've tried all the colors, I can experiment with the different brushes for foundation. But the kabuki, lol...I've been using the BE kabuki for blush, so I figured I'd try this...love it, lol.

I haven't tried any eyeshadows yet, but plan to tomorrow when I have more time in the morning. I may even play with the free eye colors they sent...for some reason I'm intrigued with the Tinsle color, lol. I hate green, but I really want to try that one for some reason. :P

Yeah, yellow wouldn't be good for me at all! Two colors I rarely wear are green and yellow.

My favorite colors so far are:

Spin Cycle (as a highlighter and face brightener)

Emerald (eyeliner)

Soft Bronzer (great for pale faces when applied with the Eve brush)

Soft Touch blush (didn't love it at first but it's great with the right brush. it's very subtle but I like it)

Baby Bath (eye shadow)

Corner Office (blush)

Intensive Fair Concealer

Finishing Dust

Cherry Fizz (eye shadow - but good pink lip color too)

Morning Cup (blush - but I like it on my eyes)

Okay I didn't really narrow it down very well, did I?

How do you guys store/organize all this stuff? Digging through my make-up bag to find what I need is becoming time consuming in the morning :lol:

Hi ladies (presumably). Got my trial stuff and tried it out this morning. This stuff does a great job covering up everything. So much so that I had to go back and add blush all over so I didn't look like the undead. Maybe I'll try a darker foundation...

This is what I got

* blush or face color: Snooze Bar 2.5g

* concealer: Mint Color Corrector 2.5g

* foundation: (Warm) Warm-Buttered Tan 2.5g Matte

* foundation: (Golden) Golden-Light 2.5g Matte

* foundation: (Warm) Warm-Medium Beige 2.5g Matte

I'm a little scared of the mint so I mixed it with the lightest foundation and dusted it all over. I think next time I'll only put it across my cheeks, which are the most red. It was too concealing on the lighter parts of my face.

hmmm, back to the site to try some darker foundations

Okay, so I decided I needed a NEW storage system for my NEW makeup, lol. Last weekend I bought a cute little makeup box at Target. It is bright pink plastic, the top opens like a toolbox, and in side there is a little mirror on the lid and two swingout trays, then underneath a larger compartment for brushes, etc. They had two sizes (and also had a bright blue color), a smaller one and a larger one. I bought the smaller one, and instantly wished I had got the bigger one, lol. I have a lot of lip glosses which I have in the two swingout trays...I still have enough room for two or three of the little sample containers, but won't have room for full sized products. If I didn't have so many lip glosses it might work.

Anyway, now that I've seen how well I like this kind of storage, I'm either going to get the larger size, or look for something similar.

I'm searching online now. :P

And another picture with some actual makeup in it, lol.

http://www.makeupcreations.com/zoom-ab_68ps.htm

The one thing I know I DON'T want is what I had before, lol. I had all my makeup in a larger plastic shoe box container. Everything flops around in there lose. If your minerals leak, as mine seemed to, then EVERYTHING is coated in the mineral dust, and since everything is loose, I can never find what I want...it shifts around, lol.

OMGosh...I'm over the top, lol!!!! Hey, it's slow at work today and I ain't got nottin better to do. :P

So, I have a couple of plastic tool boxes (very small) at home, and started to think that maybe that might not be such a bad idea for cosmetic storage...I also have some craft boxes that would work for cosmetics too. When I'm out and about tomorrow I'm going to look for something like these...can't beat the price either, lol:

I have this cosmetic organizer--

http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail

in white...

I got it from QVC a couple years ago--it holds tons of stuff, and as much as I have, I haven't filled it yet.

Stupid site--the link doesn't work  It's product # H01970 if anyone's interested :P

Patty,

I like that...they also have a smaller version for people like me with a microscopic bathroom...it's H78557.

Let's see if a link will work this way: http://tinyurl.com/39quz7

Mango,

Yeah, Sephora had some nice looking train case cosmetic boxes. :P

I love those make-up holders. Donna, I like the second one, too. Patti, yours is like the make-up case to end all make-up cases!! I need something new, I'm spending too much time looking for my make-up in my gradually shrinking make-up bag ^_^ ! Now's the time to get these things since there are so many sales going on!!

Donna--I like that one, too. I was actually planning to buy that one and then the one I bought came on brand new. My old house had a really long counter in the bathroom. This house, not so much :P I have it on top of a cabinet across the room from the sink. Not ideal, but .....

How did you do that link????? I can never seem to link from there. <_<

Yes, I agree! I spend too much time digging around in my shoebox which is full of powdered minerals...I have to wash my hands every time I take something out.

I have NO counter at all in my bathroom! There is about 2" of space around my sink, and then the toilet tank cover...that's it! :o I don't even have drawers in there, lol. I literally could not lay down on the floor if I had to and I'm only 5'3". :P So all my cosmetics, etc. are kept in a linen closet a few feet away from the bathroom. That's why I like the boxes with the handles so much I guess. :P

And, re the link. I found out about tinyurl.com on a nother website...the long links would cause the forum width to do crazy things, so they'd ask people to edit the links with the tinyurl. You basically copy the link you want, go to www.tinyurl.com and paste the link into the window and press the button...it takes a really long url (or in my cases above it was turning my link into LAME ADVERTISEMENT, lol) and makes it small, you then copy THAT small link and paste into your post.
