Well everyone...for those of you who don't have any of the full sized containers yet let me just say that they are HUGE!!!

They look like they will last forever!

I am really hoping they do not introduce a bunch of new eyeshadow colors after 3/15. I do not need any more colors. Or do I????

Off the subject - Does anybody use Noxzema?

YES, we need more eye colors!!!!!! YOU need more eye colors, WE ALL need more eye colors!!!

Oh, and I think that anything pertaining to the face, or prep of said face for our EM makeup, falls within topic and cult guidelines

That being said, I don't know about the gluten-free status of Noxema. Hope finding out isn't too much of a PITA.

Now who has a nice dusty rose color? I would rather use that as lip color for a natural everyday lipstick??

Thank You might fit the bill, it's a deep rosey color.

I ........ :o TORE off all the labels and stuck them to the lids :o I'm just a rebel! But I can now see the colors without having to take off the lid!

This cracked me up Stacie! Excellent idea btw.

Ok... Sunkissed Fair semi-matte review:

It matches my skin rather well, except it turned out very pink (I'm going to wash out my flat-topped brush and try again) and didn't match my neck at all. Semi-matte stays on my skin far better than the intensive, but it's not quite matte enough.

On my eyes I used Snowflakes on the lash line and Sunlight Concealer on the lid (I randomly grabbed them :P). Turned out to be a rather nice combination. :)

Paula, I usually put on 3-4 layers of foundation, and use more powder than recommended for each one. :P I just can't get the coverage I need any other way.

New Love:

Donna  tinted silk dust

Donna  flat top brush

Old Love:

Donna  Gingerbread Man

Donna  Ginger Peach

Donna  Samba Lessons

Donna  train case

Donna  the world. OT is done, slept well, and all is right with the world. :P

Tried Ivory in the matte forumation today. Probably not a keeper, but it doesn't look bad. This will probably be one I put into the gianormous foundation mix of under used colors. :)

Text Message...not bad. Put on with a very light touch and it looks fine, but I have so many other colors I love, so probably will not buy a full size of this one.

My fun goal for today is to set up my at work kit. Lucky for me I have a plethora of totes that I've outgrown to use. :P

Paula, I only use about 2 layers, but I don't think there is a right or wrong number of layers :D

Birdy, here's a thought. Have you tried doing a layer of semi-matte for the staying power and then topping that with a matte layer for your desired matte finish?

:lol: Donna, glad you are having such a fabulous day!

I'm sure you have noticed the swapping/trade threads on the EM boards for colors that just don't work for you??

Forgot to address the layers question! I think I put on one main layer plus some sweeps. What I do is tap out some minerals, swirl my brush, start buffing it on one section of my face, then lightly buff over the rest of my face. I repeat the process but start on a different part of my face. I repeat one more time on yet another part of my face...so it usually goes right cheek area sweeping down to my neck and all over my face, then left cheek area sweeping down my neck and all over my face, then forehead area sweeping down to temples and nose and all over my face. Clear as mud?!

Yes, but I have a quirky little thing about using things that strangers have used, lol. The quirkiness even sometimes extends to long-time friends, depending on which long-time friend it is. :P Also have that same sort of quirkiness about library books. :P:ph34r:

okay SO I really didn't want to do what I needed to do while the baby napped and instead I played with my makeup.

I ........ :o TORE off all the labels and stuck them to the lids :o I'm just a rebel! But I can now see the colors without having to take off the lid!

LOL Stacie! I love your idea. I think you should write it as a suggestion to EM. It would be so much nicer if they would put the labels on the top of the lid. I'm going to brave this one too. Was it hard to do? Are the labels still sticky and stay on the top?

Hey Paula - I use 2 - 3 layers of foundation. I seem to use more if I use the Original Glo forumla becuase I can get away with more thinner layers. The semi-matte, matte, and intensive tend to get too thick for me after the 2nd coat.

ONly hard to get a piece up and then it pulled right off and then stuck like glue to the lids. THe writing is a little hard to read but since I only need that for reordering, I figure I can pull it back off then. So far they are sticking and don't seem to be coming up. I smoothed them out and pressed them really hard all the way around.

Anyone checked out the EM site today? The old special is gone and it says to check back soon for a new one. Will there be a new site and/or special this weekend? Stay tuned to find out. I'm sure you'll see it here first.

If you had told me 3 months ago that I would be wearing blue eyeshadow today, I would have had you lie down and check your meds. But today i am wearing baby sitter over floating feathers with smokey as a liner. It's a really nice blue - definitely not a "Marge gets dresed up to go to Bingo" blue.

My resolve is weakening. If they introduce more eyeshadow colors, I will be really tempted......

:D:D OMGosh! That is too funny, and exactly how I feel about blue and purple. I wore snowflakes yesterday!

I have one friend IRL that has ordered her first mini kit and another that is going to check out the website.

I'm still scared of the blues, lol. I did try one of them, but haven't tried the other yet. :P

The other one I was afraid of trying was Anytime blush as an eyeshadow. It was too pale and chocky as a blush for me, but I thought it was too pretty to get rid of, so been meaning for weeks now to try it as an eyecolor...

Today was the day! :P Looks very nice as an allover base color on the eyes. It still got a bit chocky, but that's because I kept putting more on. If I'd stopped after two layers it would have been perfect. Evenso, when I put on Snowflakes in the crease and at the corners it all looked great. Finished that off with a little Mystic Nights as a liner. I got my purple on today!

The other experiment today was my own mix of foundation. I've got several colors that are too dark and several that are too light, so decided to pair them up and see what happens. Today's mix: Golden Fawn Matte with Olive Golden Medium Intensive. Did a 50/50 mix (used a measuring spoon so I could recreate if necessary, lol).

Looks very nice...very good match for my facial skin, but not sure it's an exact match for my neck...must check that out later in good natural light. Didn't use any concealors or finishing/silk powder/dust, so I could get an accurate opinion on the color match. Next test will be to use it with concealor, and then with finishing dust.

I'm also considering actually mixing in a little concealor into the foundation mix...considering. :P

This weekend I MUST go get more empty jars, lol.

Still no update on the specials or new website...anxiously awaiting both. :P

Hi Everyone!

Under the news section of the EM site--she mentions they are changing up the lip glosses, and still working on the website (due to adding 12 new features!) :D She also mentions still working on the eye kabuki brush!!

Can't wait!!

Donna:

i read somewhere that the ivory shade is also great for an eyeshadow primer. Give it a try that way. It is in my "ready to go" order for the next special. Let me know if it works well.

Pots and Pans all over

Snowflakes on outer half of lid

Bedtime Story on inner half of lid

In the Garden as liner

Daydream blush

Cherry Fizz lips

Yikes! Today I got a giant hive on my eyelid shortly after applying my makeup. Now to figure out what caused that. I immediately washed everything off and it is settling down, but my eyelid blew up like a baloon. It started right at the lashline. Both eyes itched, but only one got the hive.

I used my regular samba lessons eyeliner, so I sure hope it wasn't that as it is my very favorite. :(

I guess it will be careful trial and error to figure out the offending agent. I sure am glad I wasn't working today.

I love the ginger peach eyeshadow. I would not have ordered that if some of you here hadn't raved about it, so thank you for that suggestion.

I thought I had my foundation all figured out, but not so. I think I am going to have to mix. I never could achieve the nice look I had the day I tried the fawn intensive, but I finally decided I must have put it over something I already had on. Unfortunately, I had no idea what that was. I went back and looked at my orders and I think it may have been ivory original glow since I got it that same week. So today I did about a 50/50 mix of ivory and fawn and it looked pretty good.

Along with the foundation dilemma, I just cannot seem to find a great blush. It may just be that I can't get the application down correctly, or I may need a much lighter brush. It is always too light or too dark, or just plain blotchy, never just right.

Your eyemakeup sounds great, Mango.

Oooh Amy, a kabuki eye brush sounds really nice.

Cruelshoes, Dlp and Cheri, I don't ever wear blue either, but somehow that mystic blue seems to be calling my name for an eyeliner, it is just so pretty. I may have to throw it into my next mini eyeshadow kit.

Oh yeah, Mystic Blue is one of my favorites...that's not blue to me, lol. It's dark enough that it doesn't scream BLUE eyeshadow.

When you test out your products for hive reaction, can you do one at a time like maybe on the inside of your arm?

WW340:

Have you cleaned your brushes lately? Or have you used anything with a purple base in a shadow the past few days? Purple shaded eye colors sometimes can irritate sensite eye lids.

Lets hope its the new moisturizer though!!

Not crazy about the new special--i think I may hold off with my order for the next special.

Good luck

Ha, well I sort of want the new special, but I can't think of enough to buy right now in order to get it, lol. Who knew I would run out of things to buy?! I know, shockes, amazes and astonishes even me.

ETA: Almost forgot my brilliant idea I had in the middle of the night last night. Not only am I going to mix foundations colors...but I think I'm going to do the same with eye colors. There are several that I probably won't wear much if at all and I'm thinking I can mix them with something else. I think my first combo might be one of the light blue eyeshadows with mojave camping blush. Now, all I need to do it get me some more small containers. Must do that this weekend.

Most people lay awake at night worrying. You lay awake thinking about makeup

Today I tried using a slightly off color of foundation as an eyelid base. Maybe try that if you have eye colors that are just a bit off. Make a grid of foundation stripes one way and eyeshadow stripes the other on your lid to see if the color changes.

then post a picture of your eyes

Well, I was slightly worried...what if I look like I have a black eye! Course applying said mix in the manner you just described would solve THAT problem. A new trend might be started. Hum....

I have a new roommate who doesn't seem to be the biggest fan of my make-up obsession. <_< She caught me doing my eyes to go to the grocery store today and kind of looked at me like this ----> Then she rolled her eyes -----> LOL

Oh she has noooooo idea what I'll put make-up on for....the gym, the grocery store, staying home  hahaha this is going to be interesting....

On another note, someone has to tell me what that new lipgloss is like. It sounds really pretty (I like shiny pinks :D )
