Contamination When Baking

Recommended Posts

I've always wondered if it causes contamination to bake, on separate cookie sheets, gluten free fries and at the same time, in the oven, Texas garlic bread. These are just examples of gluten free and gluten containing foods. The question is: is it bad to have them in the oven at the same time?

If I were to put gluten and non-gluten items in the oven together, I would make sure the gluten-free items were on a rack above the gluten items and most certainly in separate pans.

We don't keep gluten in the house so I'm not much help in this respect.

I don't think sharing oven space should be an issue, but most certainly they should be in separate pans. Handling both could. Make sure that you wash you hands well.
