Please Help With A Shopping List And Meal Suggestions

OK. Just when you think everything is getting better. Bam. stomach ache. It's been going on now for 4 weeks. Someone suggested that I do an elimination diet :( which as you can tell, I'm psyched about. <_<

Anyways. I really don't know what to eat. It is so limited and I'm a tad bit confused. Why should I eliminate everything? Wouldn't it make more sense to eliminate one problem food at a time? Cause when you start to add this stuff back in, <_< you may feel sick. Or should I say you will. And the diet goes as this... if you feel sick. don't eat it again. Well, I don't want to be sick thank you. So, like I said before, would it be more practical if I started with soy and milk then went to nuts and corn? Or something? Probably not :huh:

I wont eat lamb. Thats cruel so please don't suggest that. Here is what it says I can eat.

Foods to eat on an elimination diet:

Starches (all cooked), including:

brown rice, sweet potatoes, winter squash,taro (or poi), tapioca rice flour, puffed rice

Most Green, Yellow, or Vegetables (all cooked), most veg exp corn, potato, tomato, peas, beans, legumes, including:

beets, beet greens, chard, summer squash, artichokes, celery, string beans, asparagus, spinach, lettuce,

carrots, asparagus, cauliflower, avocados, garlic, cukes, eggplant, broccoli, peppers,

Fruits (all cooked), most fruit cept apples and citrus. Most non-citrus including:

peaches, cranberries, apricots, papaya, plums, prunes, cherries, bananas, grapes, pears, pineapples, kiwi, mangos, melons, cherries, berries,

I'll be honest. Most of this stuff, I have no idea what to do with or how to eat. I don't even know if I like it.

Any help would be great. :)

Oh and what is my protein?

There are many ways to do an elimination diet - on mine, I had pork, but not rice (as it can be allergenic in some people), and olive oil as my main sources of protein and fat. It's hard, but mostly you'll have to figure out how you want to do your own elimination diet, if you don't have a doctor walking you through a particular one.

The reason to eliminate *everything* and add things back one at a time is to do a controlled experiment. If you have four things affecting you, and you remove only one of them, there are still three things affecting you that you have to "see around" to determine that the fourth is affecting you. And then also figure out the other three. It's simply not a clean, scientific test.

Very smart. Thank you. Now I understand why it all has to go. I am trying to leave the doctors out of this as long as I can. They aren't very smart.

      Celiac Emotional Healing Support Group
       
       
       
      Again you are invited to join Johnny Patout, LCSW for Baton Rouge's first emotional healing support group meeting to assist those living with celiac disease manage the emotional challenges so many of us face. Most often the emotional disturbances include depression, disinterest in normal activities, insomnia, grief, mood changes, anxiety, inability to concentrate, extreme concern about managing a gluten-free lifestyle and other emotional and behavioral challenges.
       
      The professionals at Jamestown Avenue Counseling Center created the emotional healing support group to give us a safe place to begin to process our emotions and support each other as we heal emotionally while managing celiac disease and the resulting autoimmune disorders.
       
      The emotional healing support group meets every Thursday, 6:00-7:00pm, at the Jamestown Avenue Counseling Center of Baton Rouge. Jamestown Avenue Counseling Center is located at 4637 Jamestown Avenue, Baton Rouge, Suite B-1. Suite B-1 is upstairs.

    Oh yes, it could, although to be honest I never got myself so wet with sweat that it would have been a serious situation.  However, I can remember one time when I got caught in a cloudburst while going to my car in a large parking lot, though, and got soaked to the skin, and of course had to wear those soaking-wet clothes while I drove the 45 minutes it took me to get home --- I will NEVER forgot the misery and agony of that drive!  I could just barely keep the car under control, in fact.
    Thanks for your response, Squirmingitch, but I have to almost laugh, as at this point I am not really stressing over these questions at all --- just curious.  I have always been an insatiable question-asker, so please don't take my frequent questions as a sign of my obsessing over celiac disease or DH.  Yeah, admittedly I was rather stressed out for a couple of days two weeks  ago or so, but I am significantly settled down now, even while negotiating the nutritional maze of trying to manage two
Water?! That's… unreasonably inconvenient. Did it happen with sweat?
