Recommended Posts

Ok my 4 yr old had his colonoscopy on Thursday and eventhough he did a clean out and was full of poop. GI cleared his colon and now he still hasn't had a bowel movement two days later and he is also on Miralax too. Is this normal?

Is he bloated...or complaining of pain??????

No complaining of pain but then again he has a high tollerence to his tummy pain. And yes there is some bloating as usual.

I don't think I would worry a whole lot unless another day or two went by. I know when I have a colonoscopy, it takes me about three days to have a BM. I think totally cleaning the bowels out, it will take a few days for everything to get moving through again. If too worried, I would just contact your doctor and ask for their opinion. If nothing was found in the colonoscopy, it should get back to normal in a few days. Good luck.

I would call his Ped and update them. But keep an eye on him, decrease in appetite, unuasal bloating and increased pain are all reason to get him checked...incase of blockage ect.
