Lea And Perrins Sauce

Recommended Posts

Can anyone clarify this for me....

Lea and Perrins says their worcheshire sauce (burger booster) is gluten free on their website. However when i looked at the ingredients at the store it said malt vinegar. Does u.s.a and canada have different recipes for their w.sauce??? Does anyone know about this. Heinz has not emailed me back and 2 months have passed....

Laura is correct. In the US, it is gluten-free, but in Canada it contains malt vinegar and therefore gluten. The web site is confusing, as it suggests that there is "only one genuine and original" sauce, but there are differences in the vinegar used in different countries.

In Canada it is made under license by E. D. Smith.
