Baja Fresh

I know there are misc threads about Baja Fresh but no one had a complete idea of what was and wasn't safe so I finally called the company and found out that pretty much any of their burritos in a bowl sound be safe. I was told the only items on their menu that contain gluten are the following:

Churros

Flour Tortillas

Tostada Shells

Flautas

Tortilla Soup

Breaded Fish

Raspberry Iced Tea

Aztec Chocolate Chip Cookies

Their is an issue of cross contamination because they do not have a dedicated fryer and they do grill gluten and non-gluten items on the same grill, but I think I'm going to try it out. Anyone been to a location in the Sacramento area with a positive or negative effect?

I ate at Baja Fresh in Vista California3 times and loved the food. The people were great the place clean. One time I was fine, the other two forget it. I have since stayed away. I think because it is not dedicated is why I had the problem.

I go frequently to the one near us. Every time I go I explain that I have what amounts to a wheat and dairy allergy and that it's very important that no cross contamination occurs. I get the Bare Style Burrito (in a bowl) that doesn't have sour cream or cheese (Mexicano?). So far the only time I've had a problem was the very first time. I shared a drink with my daughter (who was having nachos). Once realizing that could be a problem I stopped sharing drinks and tada . . no problems ; D I bring my own gluten free chips or corn tortillas as both are a problem at Baja Fresh due to cross contamination in the shared frying vat and tortilla warmer.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
