I knew that the Lactaid Milk was safe to drink because I had called and asked them. However, I forgot to ask about the lactaid cottage cheese. Does anyone know if it is gluten free?

I also had this question because I bought some Lactaid milk because I had some great coupons but I felt really bad when I drank it. I was newly diagnosed so I'm really particular about what I'm eating. I usually drink Soy Silk milk but since I knew Celiacs can have dairy and I thought I was just lactose intolerant. But I'm having some issues with this milk. I thought it might have been something else and so I kept trying it with just Rice Chex cereal but continually had a migraine- severe stomach pains- etc. Has anyone every had this problem?

Hi Marlyn,

I've been gluten free for nine weeks now & it seems that all dairy products bother me. I'm having painful bloating & acid reflux & it seems that dairy makes it worse. I think it's the protein in the milk not the lactose that's hard for my damaged intestines to digest. :(

But from what I've read on this forum, it does get better with time. I'm hoping I'll be able to drink milk again once my stomach is healed. It might take months...

I did try the Rice Chex cereal with regular milk about a month ago. I had very bad bloating with it. I just wonder if my stomach is so sensitive right now & the milk probably bloated me too. So, I've been just eating rice, eggs & ham for breakfast these days. I did cut out dairy for a while again.

Boy, do I miss my milk & cereal! What a bummer!

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
