I Ate Gluten By Mistake. I Want It Out Of Me!

Missing Licorice

Missing Licorice Newbie

Hi I've been eating 3 musketeers bars this past weekend. I've been cranky and bloated. Then I founded out that they aren't gluten free. I think they mush have malt flavouring. Any tips on how to flush the system quickly? I usually eat some ground flax seed and down a couple cups of water with it. Any other suggestions?

Hey "Missing Licorice,"

I know this wasn't your question, but I satisfy my taste for licorice with anise-flavored toothpaste (yum!... way better than mint... plus Nature's Gate is free of gluten and flouride). I also love the the "Egyptian Licorice" flavor of Yogi Tea. Licorice is good for satisfying sugar cravings. :P

Won't do any good to "flush the system ". Your candy bar has long ago been absorbed into your body.

I've read on this forum somewhere that Milky Way Dark is gluten free, and regular Milky Way is not. They are made in different plants. If I were you, I'd call the company directly. I love Milky Way too!!

I phoned up 3 musketeers and they named off their chocolate bars that do not contain gluten, and 3 musketeers was not mentioned. The bar does contain "flavor" as an ingredient, which could possibly be malt. The bar is wheat free, but that doesn't mean gluten free!

The nutritional information web page for the 3 Musketeers bar, to which happygirl referred, says specifically about the 3 Musketeers bar, "Product is gluten free."

I think this is no longer the case. I was going to pick up some Milky Way Darks around Halloween and was surprised to see barley malt is now an ingredient. (Although this was a few months ago and now I'm debating whether I did look at the dark or the regular package, but I really thought it was the darks because I know regular isn't gluten-free.) So make sure you check the package.

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
