Every once and a while my stools will float and have a very foul, garlic-like odor. Doesn't happen all the time...initially i thought it was some of the supplements I take but now I dont think so.

What could cause this? My system is very sensitive...I could have fairly normal BMs for a week or two and then if i eat something i shouldnt i get constipated and experience thin stools for several weeks. Last week i accidentally ate some food that had butter in it and my system has been a bit off for the past few days. This morning my stools had that strong odor and were floating

does anyone know what this could be?

HHMMM I read an article about this celiacs dr. who's nurses kept quitting because of the stool samples he kept at the office! :D They were described as white and foul smelling.

Are you sure you're not getting a little gluten into your system?

Take Care,

I am purty sure I read that floating is sometimes related to either undigested fats/oils or lifejackets. :D Come to think of it, it was the fats/oils that were talked about. And I think I read also that floaters are a symptom that happens to celiacs also. But it could be due to anything that causes fats/oils not to digest properly too. Remember the big new food additive that was supposed to help people lose weight a few years ago? That was the reason they lost weight, it kept them from digesting oils. And caused digestion problems too. I don't remember the name of it now.

Proverbs 25:16 "Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it."

Job 30:27 My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me.

Thyroid cyst and nodules, Lactose / casein intolerant. Diet positive, gene test pos, symptoms confirmed by Dr-head. My current bad list is: gluten, dairy, sulfites, coffee (the devil's brew), tea, Bug's Bunnies carrots, garbanzo beans of pain, soy- no joy, terrible turnips, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, eggplant, celery, strawberries, pistachios, and hard work. Have a good day! 🙂 Paul
