Dairy Free Ice Cream Recipes?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I borrowed my mother's ice cream maker. I don't do well with dairy.

Any experience with almond milk ice creams? I've seen them in the store, but I suspect that making it at home might give watery results. I've seen one coconut milk recipe. I'm curious about other dairy free recipes.

I made this delish-ous one the other day!:

Here is a spinoff from it:

Elana has yummy, simple recipes:

and:

made with cashews

Here is a blueberry one:

and here are a bunch to go thru:

also you can google karina's kitchen or glutenfreegoddess, she has the yummiest recipes and several for ice cream...peach, banana, strawberry...

My gluten-free/vegan dd is picky, we usually just buy premade soy ice cream, so I have only tried the 1st link...the rest I have saved the recipes for the future...

Enjoy!

I have an ice cream recipe that uses Vance's Dari-Free if you would be interested in that.

The cashew thing is interesting. Does that work with other nuts?

I bought some coconut milk, some rice milk, and some almond milk to experiment. I'm not crazy about all the chemical emulsifier junk in some of them, but I think it's unavoidable.

Cheri,

I would be interested in the recipe using vance's dairy free. I don't mind the soy milk ice cream, but it would be nice to try something else that might taste a little better.

Thanks. :)

Heather
