Prilosec Or Zantac?

I really dont want to take an acid reducer but my doc wants me on a short course to treat some duodenitis. he suggested prilosec but i wanted to find out if zantac would be better? im worried about side effects

can anyone please advise?

A "short course" of prilosec should cause you no concern. Long term use of antacids can reduce the absorption of B-12. Weigh the odds Jason. It might make you feel better.

Err- just found out Prilosec has lactose so no can do- gonna have to try Zantac instead

Have you tried Pepto Bismal? My GI gave me sample of both Prilosec and Zantac but I decided to see if the Pepto would work before taking the scripts. It did and the only side effect was dark stool when I took it.
