The Keg

Hi everyone,

I just got back from a long weekend in Montreal with my boyfriend. While there, we ate at The Keg in Old Montreal, and it was FANTASTIC. They have an entirely separate menu for gluten-free, and I was able to eat without any problems at all. I had the caesar salad with grilled chicken and sweet potato fries - yup, all gluten-free and no cc. Absolutely outstanding.

Also as a side note, in DT Montreal we went to a restaurant called Commensal, which is a veggie/vegan/gluten-free/Dairy-free/Soy-free etc option buffet restaurant. I picked all gluten-free options (tasty) but unfortunately still managed to get into something :( However, as I did not have any reaction at all in my stomach, but a very severe reaction in my ears and windpipe, I can only conclude right now that I was allergic to "something" I ate there - but it does seem that their Gluten-free options are safe, so check it out.

We were traveling just after my diagnosis, and ate there while in Montreal. The gluten-free menu did not yet exist in 2000, but they were aware and accommodating.

In the decade since, I have eaten at The Keg at numerous locations. Mostly they have been the two closest to where we live. I have never had a problem there. They are not as prominent in their gluten-free options as Outback are, but are solidly behind them. Sadly, Outback no longer operate in the province of Ontario.

I was born in Montreal but live in Texas. I haven't been in Montreal for 25 years. I wonder if they still have Orange Julius???? Mmmmmm that was really yummy. I think it has dried milk powder though.

I don't recall seeing any Orange Julius, so I can't say, sorry.

Peter - does that mean that The Keg in Toronto also offers gluten-free menus? I haven't been to The Keg in Toronto since going gluten-free, so I wasn't aware.

Too bad about The Outback - the more gluten-free-friendly restaurants, the better! Have you checked out Remezzo's pasta yet?

It is supposed to be chain-wide. Open Original Shared Link

No, I haven't been to Remezzo's yet.

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.
