4 Month Check-Up

Well, my 8 year old had his 4 month gluten free check-up a few weeks ago. He appears to have gained a pound or so in 6 months and grew 1 inch. I didn't think this was very good, but the doctor seemed fine with it. Although we did not see much in physical growth, his bloodwork came back perfect. Forget the exact numbers, but they said if he were tested for the first time with this result, they would never suspect Celiac. So, I guess we are doing alright with the diet. We kept a 3 day food journal and he appears to be getting the proper nutrition. Bloodwork shows he is not deficient in anything. So, we keep with the diet, and go for a check-up next summer. Now, if he could just put on a few pounds and get a little taller, I would be thrilled!

      Trying to read my lab results

      Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep...

      Constant low back, abdominal and pelvic pain!

      I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

      What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

      Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
