Are You Bugles gluten-free

My youngest daughter who isn't gluten-free got some Bugles original. I was reading the ingredients and I said "they dont have wheat in them anymore". But the futher I was reading down on the bag it said may contain wheat and milk.

Here are the ingredients:

Degermed yellow corn meal

Coconut Oil

Sugar

Salt

Baking Soda

Freshness preserved by BHT

So what am I missing where is the Wheat and Milk. Could it be a cross contamination issue or do they process Bugles on a wheat line. Could you pleas weigh in on this. Thanks

On the General Mills website it lists wheat flour & non- fat milk as ingredients of plain Bugles. Then says " contains milk and wheat". Tried to copy it but it didn't work.

I saw on your other post about KS doctor. I'm in KS, too. KC area.

My guess is that they are processed on the same lines as products containing wheat and milk. So likely to be cross contaminated. They were one of my daughter's favorite foods. I think they are nasty.

I haven't looked at a bag recently. I know they did contain wheat. They may have reformulated. General Mills has done that on some of their products (as in the chex cereals) so they may have done it here, too. General Mills will list any gluten ingredients in their ingredient list. Go by the packaging vs the website . . . and you could always call them. I would guess the "may contains" implies a shared line.

We loved bugles . . . always put them on our fingertips and pretended they were fingernails . . . sometimes pretended we were witches and cackled . . . then ate them off our fingers, one at a time. :)

LOL Bugles were my favorite food as a kid. And I did the fingernail thing too. I guess girls are all pretty much the same ;)

Enlarged lymph nodes in neck and groin with celiac are not uncommon. They can take time to reduce even after going gluten-free. Monitoring is key.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
