Still Having Fatty Stools

Recommended Posts

Ok, our 3 year old has been back on a gluten and dairy free diet for about a month now. We went through a 3 month gluten challenge and she tested negative for celiac but she has both DQ8 and DQ1 genes and a ton of celiac symptoms. We are super strict with only a couple certified gluten free processed foods, mainly wholefoods. Within just a week or so of being gluten free again she became regular and started pooping in the potty again but she is still having somewhat hard fatty stools. Just wondering how long it normally takes for the fatty stools to go away? Am I missing something, could something else be causing the fatty stools??

Proud breastfeeding, toddlerwearing, part time cosleeping, stay at home mom. Positive for two copies of DQ8, negative celiac panel after 3 month gluten challenge; biopsy showed gastritis, inflammation in the esophagus, and hiatial hernia but no signs of celiac. Possible DH. Gluten free as of 3/11/2011

ODD 3 1/2, positive for DQ8 and DQ6, negative celiac panel after 3 month gluten challenge. Gluten free as of 3/10/2011

YDD 2, no testing. Positive for DQ8 and DQ6. Possible DH. Gluten free as of 3/10/2011
