Feeling Very Tired In The Evening

I am not diagnosed yet as gluten intolerant, but I see a GI specialist Monday and expect to be. I went gluten free 10 days ago and by the time 6:00 PM rolls around I am really tired. I was that way prior to going gluten free, but my energy level during the day now is much better.

Might my body just be trying to recover after what was probably years of problems and stress?

Your body can actually very strangely to going gluten-free. I actually slept a ton more when I first removed gluten. I am pretty certain that consuming it sets your body on high alert and it may at times seem like you have more energy - but in the long run, I think it just wears out your body quicker.

It's not uncommon to be more tried when first going gluten-free. The fact that you said you feel as thought you have more energy during the day is a good sign though.

I've been gluten-free for tweve days now and seven days ago I started sleeping through the night for the first time in about twenty years. In addition to that I have to go for a short nap immediately after work to give me the energy to cook dinner. After dinner I then sleep for between 45 minutes and two hours. I'm hoping that my energy levels pick up.
