Old Cookie Tins

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I was cleaning out my closet this week, and I found two beautiful aluminum cookie tins that I bought last year for Christmas (pre-gluten free). Is this something that I can wash well enough to use again now that I'm gluten free? I think I should be concerned about the seam around the edges, but maybe I could clean that with a toothbrush?

Thanks!

I don't know I would be able to get the crumbs out of the cracks. What if you put the cookies in a ziplock and then in the can. Then you can put out the pretty cans and "use" them. Or wrapped candies?

I soak things down with bleach and it usually breaks things down enough to break the crumbs and get rid of them. Another option is to put down some sort of liner. Maybe wax paper or aluminum foil or something to keep a barrier. You could always place tissue paper on top of the foil to make it look prettier and red/green tissue paper would give it a festive look as well. I would use them :)
