Anyone Have This Issue? It Seems Weird, But...

So after finding out that soy milk wasn't liking me too well, I switched to Lactaid milk, and it seems to be messing me up a little bit as well. The odd part is that I can eat cheese all day, and as long as I have a Lactaid pill, I'm good to go. But as soon as it's just milk, it messes me up. Anyone have this issue?

That's fairly common with a casein problem.

My stepson is allergic to milk but can eat cheeses and yogurt and food baked with milk (at least now, not as a kid).

The cheese process, yogurt process breaks it down a bit. I assume the same for lactose as well as casein.

Depending on the cheese you are eating, it could be that there is little lactose left in the cheese. Aged cheeses lose their lactose. Lactose free milk have things like carrageenan, xanthan gum and guar gum which don't always set with with the stomach.
