Symptoms Worsen?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

I have been Gluten Free for about 2 months. I feel SO much better. The 2 year Migraine is gone, and so is the 2+ year Sinus Infection. I had chronic joint and muscle ache before too. But it seems now, like if I accidentally "gluten" myself the symptoms are MUCH worse. I can barely move without tremendous pain. Is this "normal"?

Any ideas why it's worse now?

No one is really sure, but the idea is that pre gluten-free your immune system was busy attacking alot of tissues, and lots of gluten. Then it gets a break and comes back energized and ready to make you feel like total crap when you get into gluten.

Mine is a terrible version of the idea, but it gets the point across.

Or, as some people put it - your autoimmune Army is now well rested and on attack. It's kind of like the U.S. vs. a small European nation instead of fighting China?

Simply put: We become more sensitive to trace amounts of gluten after we've been gluten-free.
