I was just diagnosed with "frozen shoulder", and my doctor said that it has a relationship to my celiac disease (diagnosed 2 months ago). Has anyone else had both problems or any words of wisdom?

Have you had joint issues before? The other person I knew that had this dx also had an iron overload (hemochromatosis) which can damage joints and cause them to lock. If you haven't had your iron/ferritin levels checked, you might want to.

Wow! Just joined tonight to try and find some answrs to what seems to be never ending health issues. I too have had extreme pain in one shoulder and down my arm. Grinding, loss of range of motion. This too could be from celiac disease?

My hubs had/has frozen shoulder. At first we didn't know what his shoulder problem was & then a friend who has Lupus has the problem & mentioned hers to us & described it. I Googled it also & yup, that's what my hubs has. It presented about 3-4 months before we figured out he was celiac also. He's been gluten-free for 3 months now & it's much, much better already.

OH, Yes!! This is one symptom that led my brother and I to celiac disease!! We both started developing increased levels in our Liver Enzymes AST and ALT, and then the frozen shoulder! (my right, his left) After going gluten-free for three months, my pain in my right arm really diminished and my liver enzymes went down as well. Now being 6 months gluten-free, the pain in my shoulder is barely there and my liver enzymes are back to normal!!

My brother is experiencing the same results...!!:)
