Bopsy Help Needed

Recommended Posts

Since my apt is just a week and a half away I am going to demand a biopsy.! I just need info to brig this derm. I don't want her to screw it up . I'm making a back up apt too with another derm to see what they say.

Where does the biosy have to be done?

What if I don't have any lesions at the time and just the hives?

Will they know what DH even is?

Okay, I'm back.

In this next link under Indications for testing it says "Most DH cases have associated celiac disease". They are WRONG! The celiac experts have concluded that a dx of dh IS a dx of celiac. You don't have dh & not have celiac. It's just that most ppl with dh have less GI symptoms than celiacs w/o dh.

Important info. on taking biopsy is under the heading "Histology" and says:

Perilesional skin biopsy for cutaneous direct immunofluorescence is highly sensitive
