Delimex Taquitos Are No Longer gluten-free

This is my first post, but I've found myself here many times while searching "Is [insert name of food I need to know RIGHT NOW] gluten free?" I've gotten a lot of help from all of you, thanks! I was just heating up some taquitos for the kids (I have 2 Celiacs) and thought it was about time for another verification, so I called the company and they told me that none of the Delimex taquitos are gluten free anymore. I asked why because I didn't see any questionable ingredients and I knew they used to be and she said it might be because they are on shared lines now - they did used to be gluten-free, but are not anymore. I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but everything I searched said that these were gluten free and they are not - at least according to the company. Now I have to figure out what to make for lunch - and I have a whole big Costco box of these - to feed the hubby now, I guess!

They may be the same as they have always been. Many companies that once labelled gluten-free ,but did not test for gluten, have stopped labeling them gluten-free. A legal CYA thing. Some companies have stopped labeling gluten-free until they see if and what the law may be. Which just adds to all the confusion! :(

I have noticed that more and more lately. Things that use to be labeled as gluten free no longer say gluten free anymore. Very annoying.

As was noted, nothing may have changed other than the lawyer's risk assessment.

If you are particularly sensitive to shared lines, certainly be cautious. But realize that they may also still be perfectly safe.

My DS7 is really sensitive to cc (we can't do Amy's products anymore - he kept getting sick). I was wondering if this might be it, but they sometimes change ingredients before they change packaging, so I guess I'll have to wait and see. We may risk it again if I start seeing everyone say they're doing ok with them still in a few months.

Maybe 5 years ago when this was posted they did not say “gluten-free”?  Products change over the years

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!

I think sometimes the pain described here can be a result of a sort of 'perfect storm' of contributing factors.  Recently I had an appalling bout of lower back pain, lower burning gut pain and what felt like cramps.  I then started to think about what could have caused it and I realised it was several things that had set it off: I'd been carrying heavy luggage (back strain); I had been sitting down in a car for too long and wearing a tight belt (I have pudendal nerve issues and sacroiliac issues and this exacerbates the pain), and I had bloating and burning pain in my colon caused by eating too much soy, latte and caffeine, I guess putting further pressure in the lower abdomen.  I had this same pain prior to my diagnosis and a couple of years post-diagnosis, I'd quite forgotten how unpleasant it was.

HI @Kirbyqueen That's great news your insurance will be kicking in soon.  Sorry to see that you have been dealing with this for six months now, but I do hope you have managed to find some relief with some of the suggestions in the meantime. Perhaps come back and let us know what the doctor says. Cristiana

I agree, and hopefully your doctor will contact you soon about the next step, which will likely be an endoscopy to confirm your diagnosis. Do you have celiac disease symptoms?
