My So Called Life

The Friday started off typically enough-had vitamins and organic corn flakes with raisins for breakfast and off to work. Played staff-vs-5th grade softball game. Staff won, saving the principal from having to spend Mon. morning on the roof. Now 5th graders must uphold their end of the bet by losing a recess. ANd no one got hurt (last year the 20-something 3rd grade teacher got a major knee injury during the game and had to have knee surgery and be out of work 3 months!)

Students left at 11:30 so teachers could finish report cards. Which I did. Tired, due to antibiotics from being sick the other day, but DONE with report cards!

No lunch yet. 3:15 Dropped the top and headed to the staff party at my colleague/friend's house on the lake. Ahead of time I discovered the food was to be Ono Hawaiian (marinated meat and moist (yuk) rice) so I sidetracked--- to celebrate my victory over the report cards AS well AS to avoid food confrontations at the party--to Cold Stone where I was greeted by name by the GIRL SCOUTS from my school who were there learning to make ice cream. Grabbed some mint with choc chips.

Picture your elementary school principal singing poolside karaoke Frank Sinatra, the Beetles. Badly. Tone Deaf, but confident. The teachers singing Grease songs and rapping to Fergie. Swing dancing and doing the electric slide. Taking tequila shooters. Talking about Bridezillas. Funny. And some crazy teacher, who shall remain unnamed, pushing her colleague into the pool fully clothed! Cell phone, whoops!

Then getting pushed in herself-retaliation- sans cell phone but WITH Benz key fob that now isn't functional to click the alarm. whoops again! At least there was a fire pit by the lake to warm up and eat S'mores with (sans Crackers) to end the evening!
