    • Good morning,  I am the mother of a 5 year old who has tested positive on two blood test for tissue transglutaminase antibodies (results, over 300 then 75). She is scheduled for an endoscopy and biopsy next week. I understand that her pediatric gastroenterologist is a celiac specialist so she should be good... My worry is that my daughter's GI symptoms have been steadily decreasing and she hasn't had a distressing episode of acute pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea in close to 2 months. She reports having abdominal pain that is "medium" (very hard to get a 5 year old to quantify pain). From my perspective, the pain must be rather minor since she doesn't bring it up unless she is asked.  Because of this symptom improvement, I am afraid the procedure's timing is not good and we might get a false negative result. To be clear, she continues to eat lots of gluten, but I think her improved GI symptoms are due to better stress and anxiety management.  Were you very symptomatic at the time of testing? Should I ask for a postponement? Thanks for your advice.
    • I'm guessing this is the result of an automated feed pulling any mention of gluten, celiac etc into the forum via admins account. I'm not complaining, there's several occasions on which this feed has been the first time I've learned of an interesting development in celiac research. On other occasions, like this one, it's simply bizarre. Such is the danger of an automated feed...  admin if this isn't the case please accept my apologies! For the record if I were homeless I'd be delighted if I were presented with a gluten free sandwich and it wouldn't be likely to taste disgusting to anyone that couldn't eat the alternative and indeed hasn't for many years.
    • Ummm what does this have to do with our gluten free community? Good point about giving stuff you would need to the community and all....but has nothing to do with celiac disease really, just mentions you should not give gluten free bread to a homeless persons that does not need it stating that it taste bad as the reason...........
    • Hello, I  have been told that I do not have Celiacs by two derms who did blood panels.. which is great.. however this rash i get is most definitely DH. I have studied it on so many sites and its the only one that comes up. I can not figure it being anything else. My question to you guys is can I be sensitive to gluten and get this rash from ingesting it?  Not be a true celiac but gluten sensitive?? I have had stomach issues most of my life but nothing crazy, just tons of bloating and gassy symptoms. I do not have any bathroom issues.. just the skin.. Im struggling to try and figure this out before I lose my mind... Thanks!
