  1. I'll second the motion. It seems impossible to explain how much damage 1 bread crumb can cause me. Plus it always help to be with someone dealing with the same issues.
  2. Depression is one of the worst side affects of celiac disease for me. Unfortunately, I was not diagnosed with celiac disease until after my marriage fell apart. I went on the diet and my head cleared up. A gluten accident will send me into a depressed state for at least a full day, sometimes two. It takes me awhile to reckognize it sometimes, usually after I've barked at someone, or I start asking myself "what's the use?" If I'm home on a weekend by myself, if I can't seem to get off the couch and do anything, well, it goes on from there. The recent article on this site was revealing: Brain Damage: Untreated Celiacs at Increased Risk of Cerebral Hypoperfusion The conclusion found at this site is also revealing: Entrez PubMed Another one on this site: Depression/Panic Attacks: Recurrent Brief Depression in Celiac Disease
  3. I haven't found a BBQ sauce that doesn't have viniger in it yet? Are you sure it is safe? Only Heinze ketchup also (has distilled viniger), not Hunts. If you're still gettting a steady stream of gluten, even if in traces, it will prevent your recovery.
  4. I have had excessive sweating during sleep. It went away with a gluten-free diet but comes back if I accidently get some glutton. For me now, waking up with soaking sheets is an automatic indicator. It means I took in some gluton somewhere (start back-tracking and figure out where) did not sleep well, will be tired most of the day, will be fatigued, and that I'm probably depressed already and will get worse as the day goes on. I don't know the reason for the night sweating. If I'm careful with the diet, it's not an issue.
