  1. Just a thought. Any chance it is feminine products? There are some I absolutely can't use for that very reason.

  3. Hi. I found that I started feeling better within 3 days. I have many, many severe allergies as well as lupus! Going off gluten made a tremendous difference! My PCP as well as my allergist both said, celiac as if they had expected it! No tests, just positive response to diet. My rheumatologist said having multiple auto-immunes is not uncommon. Now, after about 6 months, I started having symptoms, again, so we began looking for another culprit. Turns out it's soy. BTW, it took about 8 different doctors before I was officially diagnosed lupus. I heard "it's all in your head", "stress", "raising kids", "getting older", you name it. Finally had enough symptoms at the same time as positive bloodwork, as well as a great trio of doctors! You know yourself better than anyone - just stick to your guns! Take care, Fran

  5. Salycilates (aspirin). Occur naturally in MANY products (fresh fruits and veggies come immediately to mind). I am also allergic to most of the items that you had already included in your list. Oh yes, I am allergic to nightshades (and since many recipes substitute potato starch for wheat it can be a real pain!). So, I would love some new ideas as I honestly eat a total of maybe 10 different things! Good Luck on your project. Fran
  6. Actually, celiac is just the next one. I have systemic lupus, and SEVERE allergies. I am allergic to aspirin which means I eat no fresh fruit or vegetables. I can eat a few fruits or vegetables if they are well cooked. I already could not eat peanuts, shellfish, nightshades, soy, or lactose. Since I was still having trouble with throat swelling, the doctor took me off gluten. Almost immediate improvement! Before, I would self inject small amounts of epinephrine to keep my throat from completely closing (my throat and tongue still stayed slightly swollen); I haven't had to give myself "a shot" for almost 3 months! Not to mention the stomach aches and "D" are much better. Sometimes I hate it, but what can you do? I eat rice, small amounts of cooked veggies, and unseasoned beef, chicken or pork. Sometimes I am very tired of the diet, but, frankly, the lupus has made me so sick at times that the diet is worth it if it helps! That said, with the holidays approaching, I am sorely going to miss mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, biscuits, etc. Not to mention the baked treats! Actually, now that I think about this, I am rather upset!!!
  7. "O-" This is very interesting. Dr. says celiac but that is based on fantastic response to diet. I could just be gluten intolerant and not actually celiac. She says it doesn't really matter - if I am responding to the diet, and she says that is enough. I also can't tolerate lactose, soy, or potatoes. Am allergic to aspirin, nuts (both), shellfish. The aspirin allergy keeps me from eating fresh fruits and vegetables because of the salycylic acid. I also have lupus. But, it is interesting to me that part of the trouble could be my blood type. My ds is O+ and he is also gluten intolerant.
