    Have any of you ever tried to request a gluten-free list from Baskin Robbins? I'm pretty new to this but I've inherited printed materials from other celiacs that included some lists that they got from companies...None from BR though. ARGH! I just took my son there today. Lori

  3. Adding my thanks to the list - When I started my new lifestyle last summer I thought I just had to avoid wheat. Wrong! I appreciate all the tips because like some of you mentioned, my sources are often conflicting and I just don't always have time to call/email the companies I have ingredient questions on. Thanks for saving me valuable time and tummy aches! Lori
  4. I stopped eating wheat products last August at the suggestion of a friend and felt much better. My blood tests in September though were "inconclusive" according to the MD. I have not seen the actual reports. After seeing the GI for a pre-endoscopy appt, I was told I'd have to go back to gluten for 4-6 weeks. I only made it two days before I was in such pain I went back to a gluten-free diet. Now that I've discovered gluten sensitivity though, I'm wondering if there are other tests I should have, or dietary supplements I should be taking? Is it OK to just acknowledge g sensitivity or do I need to pursue positive testing for celiac? From reading this forum, it seems that I should be asking someone for a bone density test. Which kind of MD do I go to for that? My own MD asked me which blood tests they needed to perform... didn't make me feel very confident. Thanks! Lori

    Oh my, I'm glad I found this board. I took wheat out of my diet at the suggestion of a friend last August and within days felt wonderful! Unfortunately, when I finally got around to asking a doctor about it I'd been (relatively) gluten-free too long. My gastro-doc wanted me to go back on gluten for 4 weeks before the endoscopy after inconclusive blood work. I made it for all of two days. I guess that makes me part of the self-dianosed group! Connie, thanks for the encouragement! And "veggf" thanks for the new term..."Celiac Whacked" says it all! Thanks again! Lori
