  1. Was just at the store. No luck finding Sominex so I got name brand Benadryl. Hoping for a good night's sleep. Thanks!
  2. Does anyone know if they still make Simply Sleep? I have been unable to find it anywhere lately, not even on Amazon or Derugstore.com. Any suggestion for other gluten-free OTC sleeping pills? Sometimes I take Midnite(melatonin) It helps sometimes, othertimes (such as last night) it did nothing for me and I got no sleep at all! Thanks,Karen
  3. I like this one a lot! Just have to figure out what to use for the crust http://veganconnection.com/recipes//pumpkin_pie.htm
  4. To the OP, Sorry that your post became an excuse for people to tell you how much they love meat. Funny how often on message boards a vegan or vegetarian cannot post about anything without being told how we must eat meat. Yet we are the ones accused of pushing an agenda I agree with the suggestion to check out vegiac.com. There you can ask questions and actually get answers, not be told to stop being a vegetarian. Good luck!
  5. Thanks everyone! I checked my local Shaws and found the Mission brand hiding behind their flour tortillas. You've never seen anyone so excited to find tortillas!
  6. I have been wanting to buy some corn tortillas but haven't been able to find them at my local market. Are they usually found at regular supermarkets or do you get them at health food stores,Whole Foods, etc?
  7. I've read that stainless steel pots that have been used for gluten can be washed ans used for gluten free food. However,I've noticed our aluminum clad stainless steel pots have some scratches. Are they still okay to use after washing? I've been gluten-free for a month and lately have been feeling almost normal! I'm extremely nervous about glutening myself and feeling crummy again. Thanks! Karen
  8. I recently had bloodwork and endoscopy/biopsy done and received results saying everything was normal, except a little anemic.I have been gluten-free for almost three weeks and feelin a little better. Here are my test results- Transglutaminase AB IGA - result <3 negative is <5 Immoglobulin A- result 211 normal is 81-463 Anti-gliadin IGA <3 normal is <11 Anti-gliadin IGG <3 normal is <11 The biopsies were from the small bowel(4 samples) and gastric antum(3 samples) Results say no diagnostic abnormalities and normal length villa. Am I correct that a anti-endomysial antibody and total IGA should have been done? And they can't be done unlees I start eating gluten again? I'm so disgusted with doctors right now. How can a GI doctor not know which tests to run when can look online and find out?!!!
  9. I'm still undiagnosed but have been gluten free for 2 weeks and feel a bit better. I have 7 siblings and wonder if any of them could have Celiac. One of my sisters just mentioned a rash she has. Does her description sound anything like DH?-"Mine is wierd, it's long and skinny bumps on an area a few inches wide on my arms, legs or chest...goes away after about an hour and only occurs in one or two areas at a time. I've been taking Benedryl and that seems to help. It's odd though, it usually happens in the evening and it happens every few days." She also mentioned it's very itchy. I figured I would check before mentioning DH to her!
