  1. I can't imagine that it would not be---But is Golden Blossom Honey Gluten Free? I have had Celiac Disease for 6 months and went on the diet 2 minutes after getting the diagnose. For some reason I think I may be having a reaction to Honey. I just had some with dinner and have a bloated stomach and stomach ache. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
  2. Gluten Free Cosmetics/shampoo/etc?

I was diagnosed in May and have been miserable not being able to wear lipstick. So after much research into lipsticks--considering I have a fair number in my drawer--I learned that Lancome is safe/gluten free. MAC; however, is not nor were they at all willing to help me out in returning the brand new unopened lipsticks. They really did not care. Retesting blood tests was mentioned for the future. I will do it but I must find out what my blood test level was. It must have been significant as the doctor insisted I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy which I did. Could someone tell me the safe, unsafe blood ranges?
  3. I see this thread is 2 years old but I was wondering if any of you had any new information about Dr Green, Dr Lee and how you are doing. I am 2 months into my diagnosis and this week started with numbness in 3 toes of my left foot and some pain up my leg. In reading I see different opinions about B12, levels, amount etc. Any advice is appreciated.
  4. Celiac And Neuropathy

Thanks for all your suggestions. My 2 parents were in the hospital for 6 weeks and are now in long term care. 3 days from now they are moving to assisted living and I have to sell their apt over one hour away etc so I am truly stressed out. I was diagnosed in the middle of this whole thing so I am truly greatful to all of you for your help. The "squishy" toes really scared me and I hope it is not permanent as it is really unpleasant. I had a complete blood count 8 weeks ago and the doctor tells me my levels are fine but I have been reading about low B12 and toe trouble. Having known diabetes who can not feel their feet at all concerns me. I do not understand how malabsorption would cause this and it is only in my left 3 toes so far. I was having night time leg/toe cramps immediately when diagnosed and the dr told me to drink quine/tonic water at lunch and dinner and it does stop the cramps!! I thought symptoms would stop once I was on the diet. I did not think new ones would start up.
  5. Celiac But No Horrible Symptoms

I never knew I had Celiac Disease until 8 weeks ago when at a regular physical I found out I was anemic. The doctor insisted I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy immediately. They only symptoms I had was unexplained weight gain even though I was at the gym 3 times a week and really working out and I would notice my stomach was bloated after eating!! I went on the diet immediately. Now I am experiencing numbness in my toes on my left foot which scares me. Any suggestions?
  6. I am wondering if anyone has neuropathy in their toes. 8 weeks into celiac disease and I am experiencing tingling, squishy feeling in my left 5,4,3 toes. Some ache up my leg as well. I had experienced it a couple times in the past couple of weeks but yesterday I suffered with it all day and I have it this am. Kind of a numbness but feeling like squishy quicksand. If anyone has an idea of what if anything I can do please let me know.
  7. Thank you. I am concerned about his blood test and a number one which the doctor said was negative. I just heard about swabbing the cheek to see you are a carrier so that is something to consider as well.
  8. I really appreciate the information. My son just took the blood test and his results were a 1 which the doctor said was negative. However, I am not so sure. I believe he must have celiac disease. His teeth have very little enamel and the dentist says he will need a whole mouth of caps some day. Also has had tummy troubles his whole life.
  9. I felt really dreadful when I went to my dentist for cleaning. I have for the last couple of years and noticed the fact but never mentioned it. Well, since being diagnosed I have been inquiring about cleaning products and just learned from a friend in Tenn. that his dentist uses PROJET and he is fine. So, I called my dentist this am and the secretary has now requested PROJET for my next cleaning. It is gluten free and is supposed to be really good if you stained teeth. Mine are not stained but have turned quite yellow over the past couple of years. I kept asking about it but never got a response. I am not a smoker or coffee drinker but now I learn it is a sign of Celiac Disease. I wonder if there is anything that can help with yellow teeth that is safe?
  10. I am going to my first Celiac Support Group Meeting this evening and I really look forward to it. I am now 2 months into having Celiac and the gluten free diet. Not having worn lipstick has been annoying and has made me look worse than I have felt. So I just got off the phone with both MAC and Lancome. I have loved the MAC lipsticks and the Studio Fix foundation, but discover that the lipsicks are definitely not safe. Studio Fix contains soy so I am not sure if that is ok. I asked if I could return the unopened lipsticks that I have and I was told I could try to return them to the store but it was up to the discretion of the store. They really did not care at all about Celiac Disease and gluten free products. I was really surprised. MAC advertises all the time for their AIDS support so I thought they would be interested in "our cause". I then called Lancome and they were wonderful. Their lipsticks are totally gluten free. I suggested that they might consider somehow putting gluten-free on their packages and the lady said she would pass the info along. ALso emailed Prestige about their lip liners and they are safe. So that is good news. I went to my local Whole Foods and was disappointed to learn that even tho they advertise on their website that they carry gluten free lipsticks, mine does not. Lancome is expensive but at least you can see it, test it and then buy it.
  11. I am trying to catch up with all the blogs I have missed in this last week.I will keep in touch. Littlebit

  12. Celiac And Shingle Vacine

Thanks for the information. I am so sorry you had to have Shingles on top of everything else. This is an amazing forum for giving and receiving wonderful advice. I am so blessed to have found all of you. I have wonderful doctors but truly you all are the experts for sure. I will look into the shot.
  13. Celiac And Shingle Vacine

Sorry, I am still new at this and quess I have finally figured out that I have to press add reply to respond. Hope this works. Anyway, my Father had shingles several years ago--there is a drug that you can take if you catch it within hours that really helps with the disease but it is still miserable and very painful. I have had friends with it and they have suffered for over a year. If cloths touch the spot with the shingle outbreak it is unbearable!! So that is why I am interested in the vacine even though it is a couple hundred dollars. I was concerned as Celiac is autoimmune and therefore more likely to "catch" things that are going around.
